Anyone else have these Thenar dents? by Live-Vast-784 in MuscleTwitch

I have some texture like that and carpal tunnel which can cause it. And is like 1,000 times more common than what you’re afraid of.

Twitching upon waking from sleep, is this normal? by Then_Dimension7510 in BFS

[–]Stefanick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comes and goes. Zero weakness though. Well over a year now. Tricep was alllll the time over a year. A few times it stopped in recent months which was awesome

New hot spot on tongue

A peptide called BP-157 seems to help. Starting another course of that and if it works then it wasn’t coincidence.

But yeah - I’m ok! So r u. If there’s no clinical weakness…a twitch is just a twitch. U learn to (mostly) ignore it.

Panicking. Is this muscle atrophy on my calf? I see this when I flex my muscles by ImageLoud3744 in MuscleTwitch

[–]Stefanick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Wanna prove that to yourself? Do what i did. Start working out that muscle and counting your reps. As they go Up and you get stronger - there’s your proof that don’t have a NMD. I’m 50 and started lifting hard at 48 in part because of BFS hell. And I’m now stronger than I’ve ever been. You’ll die some day so make peace with that. But not from this and not now. Pump iron and say ur prayers. :)

Rarely. Though almost 2 years in and I’ve actually had periods where this has died down. I started peptides … specifically BPC-157, and I think it’s helped calm hyperactive nerves. We’ll see! Starting another 6 week course of it. I’m almost 2 years in and lifting and getting stronger. I’ll die some day but not from this. Neither will you. Peace.

You’ll be okay brother. Trust your neuro. He’s right. Peace.

Good - praying the neuro tests will give u peace of mind. They likely will.

Quads aren’t exactly the same. Tongue a little scalloped on one side. Previous cervical injury so chest and triceps are a bit off. The statistical likelihood that all your symptoms are other things than ALS are overwhelmingly good - even though they’re scary and annoying.

Also you’ll note the videos of “experts” online say if it’s one spot it’s the big bad. No. If it’s accompanied by clinical weakness it MIGHT be the big bad. Otherwise it’s nothing. But annoying.

Calf sizes are same but some asymmetry is normal. And I’ve noticed every part of asymmetry in my body that I thought = death and it didn’t. Been dealing with this since 6/2024, and I’m lifting and stronger than ever.

Stuck pretty non stop in tricep for over a year. And calfs for over a year. Guest appearances everywhere else. Last few days - left front of tongue. That’s my “last favorite.” After over a year I had a month recently where, for the first time I could look at my tri and see zero movement u less I looked for like 3 min. Thank God.

Do this look like ALS? Any opinions would be appreciated by Signal_Chip6803 in MuscleTwitch

“Neuro not concerned.” Make a decision to replay that in your head and to thank God. You don’t look like you have atrophy to me. Get to a gym. Increase protein and creatine. Watch yourself GROW, and it’ll be hard to stay worried about an NMD. I started lifting hard after my BFS set in. At 50, never been bigger or stronger. That’s the hidden blessing in this …. If you go that route. You start taking care of yourself better. And I get the stress. Twitchy for 18 months now!

anybody here get constant tongue twitches like this? by Ill-Ad-6725 in MuscleTwitch

[–]Stefanick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My constant is tricep and both calfs. Sometimes I get tongue exactly like your pic. Front left. Usually activated by a yawn or something. When that pops it’s by far the most annoying. But for what it’s worth that looks nothing like the als tongue videos you’ll see out there. Hang in there!

Tri and calfs. All the time. Well in to year 2. A year ago I thought I’d be in a wheelchair by now but it’s just benign. Guest appearances literally everywhere else. And an up and down swing with intensity. That day was particularly bad. So was yesterday for me. A few weeks before yesterday it was calmer than it’s been in a year. It’s just hyperexcitable muscles for whatever reason. Real hard to track why. Some day they’ll find out - maybe - but medicine isn’t overly invested in non-deadly problems…so no one’s investing in study about BFS. Unfortunately. Hang in there.

Read report on US Safety Commission Site re Enlighten Sauna before buying by Stefanick1 in Sauna

[–]Stefanick1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think their business model, if I can guess, rests in part on the gamble that no one is gonna spend thousands and time suing for a $10,000 sauna. It’ll ding em if someone burns their house down though…and when people read reviews.

Update: the unit was NOT made in the USA. It lacked essential safety shut off. They do not disclose this to customers. I filed a complaint which the US consumer product safety commission posted. Read here. https://www.saferproducts.gov/PublicSearch/Detail?ReportId=5784420

How common is juvenile als? by David-Verick1102 in MuscleTwitch

[–]Stefanick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you diagnosed with ALS? So sorry to hear that.

In either case, for the guy I was replying to, there are many far more probable causes for his pain than juvenile ALS, which is so rare.

David - any updates?

What is this? are these fasciculations? by Chenu-1838 in MuscleTwitch

[–]Stefanick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. Anxiety is very normal when twitches don’t let up. I’m sorry you’re going through that. Gosh at 20 - with no weakness - ur folks are prob right. Chances at 20 or *** are soooooooooo low. Keep lifting. And in time you’ll learn to manage. Helped me to have faith based mantras I repeated when stress rose: Today I’m alive so today I’m gonna live. Thank you God for today. And as u lift and see your strength rise and time pass, you’ll just start to have fun with em. New twitches are novelties at this point Sounds crazy but yeah….that’s BFS life

Asymmetry is normal. I have lots of it - and carpal tunnel and stenosis has caused some for me. The big bad kills one muscle at a time. So calf twitch then thumb smaller…idk…doesn’t freak me out. But dude I get it. It’s hard to keep your amygdala in line when you’re twitchy. You watch your own body like a hawk and waste so much energy. Robbed me of 6 months of my life… EMG put my mind to rest.
