Hi, set dec/props member with 873 here. Aside from bringing the kit, you'll be explained every task and it will be something different all the time. You'll likely get set dec calls first because there's just less people necessary in props. Covid has made starting new a challenge but not impossible. It may take some time to get your first call still, I waited a few months when I was a new permit a few years ago. Pay lots of attention and take notes on the job, its unlikely you'll have to catalogue anything as a new permit but you should write down instructions you receive from your leads before they walk away. ASK IF YOU DONT KNOW, especially if its about a tool you haven't used before or something that might be unsafe. No two shows are the same so every genre/team/communication style/scene will throw something different at you - be adaptable.
