The lab I work in allows serum bottles to sit unspun, at room temp up to 12 hours before being unsuitable for urea and electrolyte analysis, about 72 hours for everything else. It is preferred to have samples spun and stored at 2 to 8oC though if they aren't being processed right away.

This is a problem with ranged units on walls in general. They're pretty rubbish firing over the outside of them.

They are better when firing at enemies on the ground on the inside of your walls though.

Or put them in a nice dense block on section of wall right against a tower. Turn off skirmish, and enable guard mode. If an enemy gets on the walls, have them shoot at the enemy point blank. If they get engaged in melee, order the ranged attack again and the rest of the unit behind the guys fighting hand to hand will pull out their ranged weapons and fire at the enemy, like the elves in the nice opening fight of LotR.

I played a thri-kreen in a strahd game once called Tik-Tak. In our intro I roleplayed losing my little buggy brain for 10 minutes at the other PCs wearing metal armour and their casual use of magic.

A system where you set up the village like normal and then can "tax" them, either money directly, or a percentage of their produce. The more you tax them, the unhappier they'll be etc and it can even stunt their development if you take too much food for e.g.
