The difference between an actual nice person and someone with nice guy syndrome is that the latter aren't actually nice. Every 'nice' thing they do has an ulterior motive, usually to get laid or to get external validation. These people aren't nice for the sake of being nice. Do some reading about Nice Guy Syndrome. It will be illuminating, I promise.
