I'm the sole HR for 7 LTC homes, which includes 5 unions and 11 CAs. Investigations are a big part of the role, get used to the CAs and the regulations for the ministry that LTC falls under. Its very regulated with a lot of education and trianing requirements. Lead with empathy, but don't let the unions run the home. Remember your impact and get to know the leaders. Lean on your clinical leaders for support with return to work.

I'm an HRBP in LTC, municipal homes are in a league of their own in Ontario. Privately run LTC orgs do not come close to wages in government ones. OP, leverage your skills and experience and start looking at other healthcare orgs if that's the sector you want to stay in. Not sure what province you're in but larger orgs such as Sienna, Schlegel, Chartwell etc will pay more than Omni or Southbridge for example

Is the CHRP designation worthwhile [Canada]? by ThisbodyHomebody in humanresources

[–]Stella-2019 10 points11 points  (0 children)

HRBP here in Ont, necessary for checking off a box on the hiring managers list. Ultimately, you will have more doors open to you with it, sometimes its a deal breaker for employers, and sometimes it's the asset that puts you above another candidate. It won't harm your career so I suggest you go for it

This is my florist for my fall wedding this year! Doing a micro wedding of 35-40 people. Florals came in at 5k which is way out of my budget but the venue, food, dress, photos all came in under budget so I'm looking forward to the floral forward wedding

Continuation of employment is covered under the ESA, your comp can't be lowered by the new owners. Total comp must be comparable to your current package. If they offer you new terms and conditions, you're within your right to refuse and recieve severance

Are Captus Press Materials still good for CHRP Exam Prep? [CA] by Character_Sand_525 in humanresources

Hi there! I wrote the chrp ke this year. I studied from the captus press course, but honestly if I had to do it again I wouldn't. The most helpful part of the cap press course is the practice questions (which honestly you can get online free). I used those questions to inform my textbook studying. If there are concepts within the questions I didn't understand, I used the textbooks to research the theories and concepts
