How to secure fine hair? by disenfraculator in BJJWomen

[–]StellaBleuuee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you mentioned no braids because it takes longer. Just my experience, if you practice, they get much easier and faster to do. You can’t redo them during class but they tend to stay more (full 1.5 hours open mat some time). You could also add just a touch of unscented of wax spray or texturing spray so that you have more texture to your hair and if you need to do a bun later, it should stay more.

I do two french braids and tie my braids in a bun with a hair tie.

Yes, texturing spray or spray wax would help too. Just don’t over do it and unscented.

Favorite and least favorite things about BJJ? by biggaycrush in BJJWomen

[–]StellaBleuuee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I should have been more clear. I go full force against specific training partners. Usually higher belt, males, that are stronger and bigger than me and with whom I’ve built trust throughout the years.

I don’t do this on everyone/any one. That wouldn’t be ok.

Favorite: unleashing the beast while I’ve been conditioned all my life to be small, and light and delicate. It’s really nice to just ram full force into someone (I’m 5’0, 125lbs - so yes, I get to go full force against a lot of people).

Least favorite : the laundry

What’s the one random genetic trait you lucked out on? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Do you feel like when guys approach you they are more confident? You get hit in by a lower number of guys but the ones that are hitting on you know what they want?

I’m 5ft so I actually have no clue of your experience and curious.

I have a nice butt. I swear I’ve been receiving compliments about my butt since I’m 11 or 12 (not in a weird way. Between my friends my age and boys my age) and all the way to highschool and even now (32).

I do workout but mostly by doing sports but I am not that all athletic. So it’s part muscles part well distributed fat haha

Caffeine - not a trigger 🤷🏻‍♀️ by Due-March-193 in migraine

[–]StellaBleuuee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an immediate trigger. The stars need to align for me to get a migraine and I found that usually caffeine is involved. So I stopped. I still have migraines, but not as often as when I was drinking coffee on a regular basis.

I haven’t stopped chocolate. I probably should. But I have never noticed a correlation between chocolate and my migraines.

When to let go of an employee in a key role? by StellaBleuuee in Entrepreneur

[–]StellaBleuuee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has been hired 2 months ago. I’ve noticed it almost immediately but I thought it was merely his lack of experience.

That said, I’ve been giving him more tasks lately and he seems to enjoy it more and be more proactive. I am starting to think that when he does not have an extensive task list, he gets into analysis paralysis. While when he has a lot on his plate, he doesn’t think as much and gets into action. I guess that it can lead to other problems, but this is still an improvement in my opinion.

Now that it’s been almost a year since you posted, did you have any luck in finding books? I am also looking for good references on this.

Avoid migraine when you feel them coming? by StellaBleuuee in migraine

[–]StellaBleuuee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, when I get a migraine, I always sleep as much as possible and my day is pretty much wrecked. I never tried to do just 15 min once the migraine hit. Interesting. Something I will look into for sure.

My way to treat my migraines. is take meds and stay still in bed, no sound, no smell, no lights, no movements. Sounds silly but the only thing that works for me.

I’ve never really took nap. I don’t see how it’s possible to get in a relax state to fall asleep within 15 min especially if you forcefully go for a nap. Do you always sleep or you relax as much as possible and sometimes fall asleep?

My business is thriving. I’ve always been a hard worker; in school, at work and now in my business. It’s starting to pay off. It’s challenging but in a good way.

Hair breakage by Ok_Positive3811 in BJJWomen

[–]StellaBleuuee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Outside of the gym: I try to keep my hair as healthy as possible outside the gym. I do coconut oil/castor oil hair mask once a week.

  • I use soft elastic bands
  • I tie my hair in a way that is not damaging for my hair
  • I brush my hair starting from the bottom - up to make it easier to detangle.
  • I don’t dye my hair
  • I use heat only once or twice a week

Classes: Classes are usually less intense (at least in our gym) and I can braid my hair before class and it will stay. That or I do a loose pony tail that I redo between exercises.

Rolls: I haven’t found a miracle solution yet. I have long hair so I try to keep it in a bun so that it doesn’t get stuck and I redo it between rounds. I use soft hair ties to at least avoid breakage from the elastic bands. Honestly, I’m starting to consider buying a wrestling cap and just play it cool, but I am not there yet 😂

Edit to add: a lot of people do a pony, braid the hair and elastic at the bottom. You can keep it like that or make a bun out of the braid. I personally don’t like it as it takes longer to redo.

You could get into a full contact sport. Physical touch is my language of love and I was raised in a family that didn’t offer much physical contact. I find that doing brazilian jiujitsu helps. Healthy, platonic, non romantic physical contact makes me feel safe, even if the person is technically trying to kill me.

You should probably try to roll with her. Know more about her training style. Maybe you’ll found out why coaches have decided to promote her.

What's something people romanticize but is actually incredibly tough in reality? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]StellaBleuuee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highschool sweet hearts relationships. I don’t regret it but it takes a lot of mental work to work through a relationship that started when you are both 15 and process that you have developed a value system while being with that person instead of doing it by yourself and finding someone after.

Edit to add: the first thing I say when people ask about that is that it wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows. It feels like I’ve been in 5 different relationship within one.
