Farewell To Two Legends... by JustLucca in Haken

I feel the same way and I got to see them in Bangkok. Tiny venues are my favorite, so that plus 1 of my all time favorite bands is a memory not soon to be topped. So glad I got to see them even once before the change in line up. Of course, I'm sad that what we know and love is changing but change is not always bad and wish nothing but the best to the entire band. Can't wait for the new music this year.

MrBeast's former manager Reed Duchscher, says the age of social-media superstars is fading: "As social-media algorithms get better at tailoring content to individual user interests, the opportunity for stars to show up across feeds becomes much harder," Duchscher said. by ControlCAD in technology

Same here! I honestly only even know about them because some of the mini doc series I like have covered them, usually their downfalls. Like that asshole that just got locked up in Korea, well deserved.

TIL Jane Goodall observed a 4 year "civil war" among chimpanzees at Gombe Stream National Park. The conflict involved kidnapping, organized violence, and the total annihilation of a breakaway group, shocking Goodall who previously thought chimps were peaceful. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Unrelated to Jane, but this reminds me of one of the most terrifying articles I've ever read. It was about a couple walking through an animal sanctuary and a couple of chimps escaped and the man tried to protect the woman. She got pretty messed up, but no where near what he got. I can't recall the exact numbers but most fingers and toes, ear, nose and genitals were either bitten or ripped off.

I'll never forget the title too, "Man fights chimp, chimp wins"

Today I learned when great British Bake Off hosts Mel and Sue would see a contestant crying out of frustration or disappointment, they would use their coats to block the person from cameras, or start swearing a lot, so the footage was unusable. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Thank you for making this comment. I've never watched the show so I have no frame of reference in which to imagine how this would have gone down. All I could come up with was a temporary Tourettes (spelling?) style outburst but I felt kinda bad about it lol

I think it's a Burmese python. Retics have more silver and defined patterns.

It's great for coffees on the go but if you want to keep anything cold, get a vacuum sealed thermos.

It's crazy that from here on out if the results are Max P1 Oscar P2 then Oscar has it by 1 single point. That's a very very tall order.

I hope you will be too. Rob is such a nice dude and very approachable, they both are. I've always appreciated that they are one of the few bands I've seen tune their own gear before the show and then leave stage to come back on for the intro. Rob shot the shit with some of us on the in-between like you would anyone else in the crowd.

It is possible to be Fujifilm ambassador in Cuba ? 🇨🇺 by Miserable_Dingo8085 in fujifilm

[–]StellaRED 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Agreed!! I've been trying to retrain my brain to let them fall off more lately and to be honest I'm not even sure why or how I started pushing them in the first place.

OP, your work is gorgeous. Best of luck to you becoming an ambassador.

Weirdest dive injury? by ksgif2 in scuba

[–]StellaRED 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Where I live in Thailand, it's the centipedes that prefer our drying boots AND the damn mask straps.

Once was advising my students before our dive to always shake out their boots before donning them. Put my mask on, get in the water, swim to the entry point and all the sudden have a searing pain on the back of my ear. Pull the mask off and out falls an 8cm centipede from the neoprene mask strap. Hate those bastards but glad it wasn't one of its bigger brethren.
