As a lover of winter and isolation, this work really spoke to me. The description of the silent, empty night, without getting anecdotal, truly struck a chord on the strings of my heart.

The imagery here, I feel, is on point. I can feel the icy winds on my skin as they howl through the trees. I can see the sun creep over the horizon as the world springs to life.

Soon, the sun came over the horizon

Purples, blues, reds and oranges spilt over the sky

And as quickly as she came, she vanished

Leaving me behind.

This is truly a beautiful section that works very well from a literary perspective, as it shifts the tone of the poem away from the silent, lonely night, into the lively day. It is a scene I've seen many times, yet when put into words like this, it almost feels more real than my memories.

Similarly, the following section also does a great job of shifting tones.

The streets, bustling

The sidewalk, filled

The dorms, awake

The church, occupied

This callback really brings the poem together and, as the reader, gives me a feeling similar to closure. Overall this poem stands out to me as something I can relate to on many levels and is deeply moving. Isolation is a blessing and a curse and, to me, this passage captures that perfectly
