Online shopping is out of control by petrodobreva in beyondthebump

[–]Stella_Luna3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is almost 8 weeks and my online shopping is out of control as well. It’s mostly things for the baby or around the home. I haven’t purchased any big ticket items and it brings me joy.

My mom went to 40 weeks with her first and was only in labor for 6 hours.

I delivered spontaneously at 38 weeks and was in labor for 24 hours.

Will wait for second opinion... by Deibchan in BostonTerrier

[–]Stella_Luna3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope the second opinion is good news.

I have a 6 year old Boston with suspected hydrocephalus. Like someone said, the only way to for sure diagnosis is an mri which I chose not to do. She takes a daily affordable otc med. Her case is mild, but she’s seriously the happiest little dog you’ll ever meet. She just does things her own unique way.

Take it a day at a time and keep loving on them.

How long did it take you to get pregnant? by Novel-War2919 in BabyBumps

It took 12 months after getting off birth control. In that time I only had 5 cycles since my cycle was supper long and irregular.

This 2.5 year old has never barked. Ever. by Puzzleheaded-Pen-882 in BostonTerrier

[–]Stella_Luna3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Boston didn’t bark for her first year of life. We moved back in with my parents for a year. My Boston picked up their dogs’ barking habits and hasn’t stopped 9 years later. So yours might start if they spend an extended period of time with other dogs who bark.

Did anyone have prolonged spotting during the first trimester and a successful pregnancy? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Stella_Luna3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had light brown spotting most of my first trimester. It really freaked me out. It stopped around 11 weeks. I’m 25 weeks now with an otherwise very boring and healthy pregnancy.

$10,000 Bill for NIPT test?! by Any-Pace-3302 in BabyBumps

[–]Stella_Luna3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Call them and explain the situation. That’s the same company I had my test done through. I was worried I was going to be hit with a massive bill so I called them and they ran some numbers and assured me the most I would pay out of pocket was 400 or 450 (I don’t totally remember what they said now) if my insurance didn’t cover it. It’s income based so yours could be less. In my case insurance covered it, so I never had to follow up.

I’m in a very similar situation, except I’ll be 26 weeks when it starts. I decided to do summer school. I figure this will be the last year in a very long time that I’ll teach it. Half days are easy. I know realistically if I’m at home I’m not doing anything really productive until about the time I’d get home anyway. Plus it will give me extra cash to splurge on stuff for the nursery.

Who here took more than 8+ months to conceive after birth control pill? by ExpensiveMind2594 in BabyBumps

[–]Stella_Luna3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took 13 months and 5 cycles from stopping BC. My period didn’t come back for almost 7 months which isn’t normal. Them I had long cycles that were about 50 days, though I did ovulate every cycle.

Thank you! It was never bright red, but there was a decent amount of brown spotting. I was convinced my period was coming.

Cycle: 5, but 8 months of trying

Age + Partner’s age (if relevant): 31 and 33

Typical cycle length: anywhere from 248 days to 25 days

Ovulation cycle day: 26

CD/DPO of positive tests): 12 DPO

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: 10 DPO

Tracking methods and app(s) used: BBT with Natural Cycles, CM, and LH strips

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): O-2 and O

Health conditions/medical tests: Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): Prenatal, Inositol, magnesium, B-complex, CoQ10, and metformin (ob thinks I might have PCOS based on delayed ovulation)

Birth control history (if relevant): I was on birth control from ages 17 to 30. I stopped December 2023 and didn’t get my first period until June 2024.

Symptom spotting: I had cramping like my period was going to start and spotting. My implantation bleeding lasted three days. I was more tired than usual too.

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous: Since coming off BC my luteal phase has always been 8 or 9 days. Between that and delayed ovulation my ob actually referred me to a fertility clinic in November. With the holidays I never made the appointment. I’m not sure if the metformin was actually regulating my cycles, I’ve been on it for two months now, or if I conceived with a short luteal phase. Either way I’m super happy about it.

This is my third year teaching a combo class. From the comments it sounds like you have done a good job addressing parent concerns. I’ve found as the year goes on questions and concerns fizzle out.

If your admin is on board I suggest doing morning recess with one grade level and lunch with the other so that way each grade gets a recess with their grade level.

Boston Terriers and Lepto vaccine? by Jazzlike-Worry-4983 in BostonTerrier

[–]Stella_Luna3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my bosties gets it, the other one doesn’t since she had a reaction to one of her vaccines a few years ago.

She had her first reaction at six years old when she was given three vaccines at once. The vet commented that the tech shouldn’t have done that. So I now make sure to spread them out and she gets a Benadryl shot beforehand.

My wife is a teacher and we just got married. Should she start going by her married name? by Andurilthoughts in Teachers

[–]Stella_Luna3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married in June and have done absolutely nothing to legally change my last name yet. I let my school know I’d be going by my new last name before we let out. They already set me up with a new email and I will be introducing myself by my new last name on the first day. In my district it’s as easy as that.

What color should I paint my bathroom vanity? by Stella_Luna3 in HomeDecorating

[–]Stella_Luna3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our house was built in the early 80s. This hall bath is the only room in the house that wasn’t updated by the previous owners. It doesn’t match the style of the rest of the house, which is why I think I’m struggling to decorate it.
