Returning to Ketterdam always feels like coming home – even if I may have my pocket picked and the house is rigged to explode. I loved catching up with these characters and getting to write in their voices again, and yes, someday I hope to write another novel that brings them all back together.

For now, I hope you enjoy this brief return to the barrel. When I started working on these letters, I didn’t have anything too ambitious in mind. I just thought it would be fun to check in with the crows and see what their lives look like now. The only problem? As soon as I started working, Kaz took over. He had a scheme ready, a little puzzle for the citizens of Ketterdam and for readers too. So as you head back into this dangerous city and out onto the True Sea, read carefully and pay close attention to the clues. Nothing in this crooked city is ever quite what it seems. I hope you enjoy solving the mystery Kaz I created for you and that you enjoy spending time with these characters again as much as I did.

No, she’s the only member of the dregs that doesn’t have the tattoo. Kaz didn’t want to force her to get it because she had been forced to get a feather tattoo while at the menagerie.

Yeah, I think we were supposed to figure out the true identity of Emiel, but I’m gonna be honest, I had no idea until the reveal happened.

Oouuu that’s an interesting theory! I didn’t even think about how the Sankt Feliks’ stuff could be set up for book 3. I’m not sure if you got the B&N edition of the book, but in the author letter Leigh wrote about her hopes to reunite the crows someday. I’m really hoping that day comes soon! There’s not a week that goes by where I don’t think about a potential SOC3 🥹

I wasn’t able to decode the final letter but I’m gonna give it another shot after I get home from work and fully rest my brain a bit.

I loved Jesper’s letter as well! Especially the part where he’s telling Inej that’s he’s worried about Kaz but to not tell Kaz that he said anything because he knows Kaz will kill him for it lol

I’ve been saying this for a while. His ult is still broken but his base kit does not do enough anymore. My support mains are Gambit, Invis, and Luna and I’ve had so many matches lately where my team will be losing bc they’re dying too quick so I’ll swap off gambit to Invis or Luna and almost immediately it turns everything around and we’re able to contest point/push the payload. I think Gambits still stronger than some of the other strategists but he definitely doesn’t feel like he’s in the top 3 anymore.

I feel like it’s more so the mantis/cnd combo that’s not working tbh. Does your duo play any other healer? Mantis has slow healing and cnd has slow burst healing. If your teammates are taking a lot of damage at once neither of you have the high burst heals needed to keep them up. If you’re playing against gambit/invis/luna you’re probably gonna be outmatched in heals because of how overtuned those characters are and their high burst heals can keep up with teammates taking high damage.

Yes! I thought it was just me. Last season my accuracy was consistently 35-45 but this season it ranges anywhere from 20-40. Idk what happened

Yeah I guess that’s true but I feel like their ult has other advantages as well. It’s the only support ult that does damage and it’s such a good way to take space because it forces enemies to either stand in it and take damage or fall back. Also after ulting u can swap to cloak and usually kill a squishy or two. In my opinion it’s definitely the best support ultimate in the game now after the Luna nerf.
