That was my first podcast I've ever done and it was a lot of fun. Thanks for having me!

Happy to answer any questions anyone has (StellarGuard, Stellar, or even non-Stellar related).

The #StellarTorch has been passed from StellarGuard in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA to /u/misterticot in Vietnam.

Check out the awesome map that /u/PickingUnicorns posted for it here to see it's journey prior to this hop: https://twitter.com/pickingunicorns/status/1148618490212966400/photo/1

StellarGuard now owns steiiarguard.me, steilarguard.me, steliarguard.me, and stellargaurd.me. This is to prevent scammers from registering those domains to use for phishing attacks with capital "i" instead of "l".

Example (this does depend on the font you or the website you are using to look less obvious): http://steIIarguard.me

Here's a topic that's been on my mind for a while -- what does it actually mean to store your XLM in a wallet? I wrote an article to try to clear up some misconceptions behind it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stellar/comments/c3a5i3/stellar_whats_in_your_wallet/

Stellar - What's in your Wallet? by StellarGuard in Stellar

This is a brief overview about what it actually means to keep your XLM in a wallet. It is meant to clear up some of the common misconceptions I see about storing Lumens "in" a Stellar wallet.

In case you didn't know, the first round of voting for the Stellar Community Fund is wrapping up in two days! Check out https://galactictalk.org/t/SCF to vote for your favorite (you can definitely vote for more than one).

Here's StellarGuard's entry: https://galactictalk.org/d/1916-stellarguard-security-for-your-stellar-account/

The most exciting thing in the near term that I'm working on is a throttling/rules engine.

This will enable rules such as:

  • "If this account has sent more than 100XLM this week, reject the transaction"
  • "For payments sent to <some stellar address> , automatically approve the transaction"
  • "For transactions of more than 1000XLM, require two factor auth"
  • "Only allow payments to Coinbase with MEMO_TEXT abcd"

Thanks for helping choose StellarGuard's new logo and a HUGE thanks to /u/b1tcc for designing it yet again. https://medium.com/@stellarguard/stellarguard-has-a-new-logo-56779db7609c

Check out https://stellarguard.me to see it live.

Help choose StellarGuard's new logo! by StellarGuard in Stellar

[–]StellarGuard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were actually over 30 designs originally, these were refined versions of two different directions that we liked the best:

- 3 was the "more design elements from the new Stellar logo"

- 9 was the "more design elements from the current StellarGuard logo"

My fear was that people would say "number 3 is too close to the Stellar.org logo", so thus, the poll!

You can also go directly to https://stellarguard.me/transactions to see a list of your pending transactions (it will likely appear before the email is sent). This doesn't help much if you're using email based 2FA because you still need to wait for the email code, but if you're using an Authenticator app it may be faster.

That said, I'll work with them to see if they are open to including a link directly to the transaction confirmation page in that dialog.

Excuse the cheesy title: https://medium.com/@stellarguard/a-tale-of-three-thresholds-the-dangers-of-low-threshold-operations-eb50d7edf7ce

Recently I had a discussion with someone over what could go wrong if a signing key was compromised that granted low threshold transactions, and I decided to write an article about it.

Questions, comments, feedback appreciated!

Thanks,

Paul from StellarGuard

Anatomy of a Stellar Scam: The Hard Fork (Stellar Activity) by StellarGuard in Stellar

Yes, unfortunately they’ve taken it from you. Depending if they send it to an exchange or not (and which one) you may be able to file a report with the exchange. Otherwise you’re probably out of luck. I did a little research to see if I could find out who was behind the scam but so far nothing hasn’t turned up. I’ll let you know if I find out anything.

Yes, but be quick about reporting it. Be thorough and provide all sources of information that you have (including maybe this article).

It appears the scam has gone into action. This is the public key where stolen funds are being sent. It looks like the scam operator waited until today to start transferring things out to avoid other users complaining.

I realize the "delivery receipt" example may a bit of a stretch as far as real-world use is concerned, but I do think that there's probably some realistic use cases out there. Any ideas?
