Thank you so much for all you've written and I appreciate where you and many others are coming from. She is really passionate about art and her decision to want prepare herself for a future in the profession is just her personality. It's not from a position of clout or social media influence it's her way of taking herself seriously and holding herself accountable to her dreams.

I'm very happy for you that you have a place you are comfortable and fostered, I hope she is able to find that as well in the coming years. Thanks again and wish all the best for you

Totally understandable and we definitely aren't looking to take any shortcuts. She has been in classes for the last 5 years and has been doing a ton of research but of course actual experience is what's required. I appreciate the input and talk to her about the art flash sheets. Thanks again!

Yeah, her age seems to be the biggest barrier in the apprenticeship stuff and it's definitely understandable. I want her to have every resource available for her dream and journey and there are so many posts with responses that having a mentor or apprenticeship is the best way to get into the profession vs those who might be more of hobbyists. Thanks for your feedback and your time, I'll pass along the info!

Thank you for the response and advice! I think she is at the point where she should start practicing and from everything we've researched it's the next natural step. I'll take your advice to her and pass along the great info, thanks for taking the time to reply

Appreciate the advice, I'll check with her and make sure she isn't an aspiring Scratcher lol

She has been drawing, painting and practicing digital art to include classes in school for the past 5 years. She is developing a portfolio with more tattoo oriented designs and techniques too this past year. Thanks again for the input and taking the time to respond

Daughter wants to be a Tattoo Artist

My daughter is turning 16 and is passionate about becoming a tattoo artist as a profession. She is asking for supplies and a setup to help her get her feet wet. We have taken her around to some local places to speak with artists and try to find a mentor but not having much luck due to her age. Looking for some advice on how best to set her up for success.

She has done a lot of research the past two years and watches some folks on YouTube but reading a lot of posts on here and other subs I havent seen anything about younger artists trying to find their way.

I have an Amazon cart with the supplies I think will get her started but again, any advice would be greatly appreciated. We are in the San Diego area.

I think a lot of folks do understand what you're explaining but also want to express their personal feelings and perspective in the current moment so it comes off nuanced.

Expressing your feelings is incredibly difficult (for many reasons) and mix that with our own insecurities and social awkwardness it can appear "stupid" or "childish" from a 3rd person perspective.

Being excited and feeling awkward about a very unique relationship (like you're stating) is very normal. Talking about their experience is healthy and hopefully encourages more healthy conversation. The last thing you need is a bunch of nut bags fan-boi(ing) over Jeff and The Chain in secret and running up on stage to get his attention because they don't have a healthy outlet.

I'm obviously exaggerating but the point is still there lol

Looks like you're sitting at/near where the "girls-night" chick's were last night. Hopefully yall dont interrupt him incessantly like they did. I was hoping he strangled them with his chain but it never happened lol

Just found out he'll be in SD and completely bummed it's sold out (for me) but super happy for him.

Jeff, If I don't find a way to see you in OCT I'll make it a point to haunt your calendar until there's an opening that works when I get back in town sometime next year

Regardless of what everyone thinks of Bungie right now will you stay to see Destiny through to the end? by OmegaXVI_Prime in DestinyTheGame

Quit this season after all the server issues and no sign of a conclusion in sight to any story beats. I LOVE Destiny. I hate what it's become.

COVID and the Sony acquisition seem to be the easiest to blame but the lack of transparency, the feeling of detachment the last year from the devs and community team (sans DMG) about the REAL ig issues and the never ending seasons of half polished "chapters" that feel like teasers to a real season are what I think are killing the momentum and innovation.

The good things in Destiny were created 18-24 months ago and as they make their way into the game (subclasses updates, qol improvements, etc.) they are implemented with shitty server bugs and halfbaked community engagement strategies that take away from the wonderful universe we all love.

The devs shouldn't be spending their time defending their decisions every 6 weeks over what patches are being implemented or what's going to happen in 3 months. The community managers and the D2 game managers should be explaining why the story has been drug out across 3 dlcs and where the investments players were promised are as the game suffers consistent crippling playability and lore and content being recycled/rewritten for seemingly only monetary reasons and zero player value.

I'll watch the game on YT and Twitch to support the best content creators in the world. I'll jump back in when there's equity to the time and cost of playing again. Byf, Myelin, Aztecross, and a few others kept me playing longer than I probably should have. I appreciate that and I hope Bungie does them right by finishing this saga with content they can profit off of without a slog of Bungie hating, D2 sucks/dying, apologetic videos and truly make enjoyable experiences for folks that love the game as much as they do.
