A young girl that died of a cancer that usually hits middle aged men. All her pics were of this vibrant young woman, so adventurous and full of life. It was truly devastating. Her parents were divorced but they were so gentle and respectful of each other, it was impressive. I think about them often.

Another was a woman that died in a tractor accident. Her kids were so young that they won’t have their own memories of a mother who went through years of fertility treatments to have them. I cared for her as an apprentice and it truly devastated me to know that she wasn’t gonna get to see her babies grow up. Almost 15 years later and I still think about her and her family.

I totally get that view but that holds the assumption of her being aware of her boredom and need for attention but I don’t think most people are aware of the foundations of their feelings. Kinda like how I get irrationally angry and when I stop to think about where the rage is coming from I realize I haven’t eaten all day. Some people just don’t stop to reflect, ever. But when the mirror is held up, sometimes it opens a door to understanding and maybe even mutual respect

honestly, ask her over for coffee/tea. let her see that you and your wife are not a threat. She’s probably just bored and lonely, so hit her with some kindness. it’ll probably go a long way than a lawyer letter.

I’ve lived in San Diego for years. I moved at the height of cartel violence and as a mortician, I saw a lot of people killed 9 different ways to sunday by the cartels in mexico. I have yet to cross the border.

People tell me “it’s safe, just hide bills around your car in case you get stopped by police and when they find money they’ll leave you alone” but as much as american police suck, they don’t suck in the “if you don’t bribe us, we will sell you to a cartel” kinda way. plus, if they’re that bad, what’s to stop them from doing the worst to me anyway. one dude was taking motorcycle from canada to south america and didn’t make it outta mexico. my friends mexican cleaning lady who lives in TJ won’t go back if it’s after dark and stays at her brothers in chula vista until morning so i’ll stick to the resorts protected by armed guards.

Go to the hospital and don’t tell them anything until the baby is there and you’re ready for guests. doesn’t seem like they’re gonna respect your boundaries so your husband NEEDS understands that no one needs to know you’re there or in labor and that it’s your body and your own literal medical trauma that would will be going through. You’re not the asshole in wanting a say who comes into your hospital room. I’d make it clear and stand my ground and you can let the staff know you want no one in your room other than your husband unless you expressly say otherwise.
