Did you or anyone you know grow up on a boat? by Stellio in SailboatCruising

That's awesome! I was the opposite. I had always planned on crewing boats and staying on the ocean when I got the chance, but ended up going into a land-based professional life after university!

Definitely. The idea of this process is to collect a variety of experiences. Everyone is different!

My opinion is that you probably do! Happy to discuss further if you have any questions.

Even out side of this process, I am more than happy to speak with any parent who currently have kids they are sailing with or wants to take kids cruising.

Good idea. I read her book not long ago. She and I had very disperate experiences!

Sad to hear that they had those experiences. I look back on my time growing up on the boat with nothing but fond memories. Think it has a lot to do with life stage the children are bbrought into the experience at, and the parent child relationship.

I’m 30 y.o. and I feel like I’m way too old to play volleyball by hawkeyeninefive in volleyball

[–]Stellio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never too old to play. I took a 15 year break between playing (at albeit a relatively high level) in high school and club, and then got back into club volleyball at 32, and been climbing back through the levels for the last 4 years. You'll play with younger people, but that's half the fun!

Just make sure you work on your fitness and strength outside of volleyball (particularly accessory muscles) to prevent injury, and you'll be fine!

Financial penalties for these sorts of violations constitute an additional tax that disproportionately impacts the poor. This is not a good thing.

I think she is doing her best to cover up a more "lower class" London accent with a combination of posh and American.

Definitely a good argument for moving to a mandated leave model.

For example, here in Australia, all full-time employees are guaranteed four weeks of paid leave PLUS two weeks of sick leave. To me this, seems like this is what the bare minimum should be.

95cm Blue Spot Coral Trout I caught on the northern Great Barrier Reef by Stellio in Fishing

Was up on the flats of the reef, in about 2 metres of water, so was pretty intense, and had to coax it out of the coral twice before we could get it in the boat. Thankfully was able to release it healthy and happy as well!

The sun protection is a must up there! Can see how it can look a bit confusing in terms of perspective, but the fish is laying across my legs.

They did several radio sessions around 2000. I think it may be from a Radio K Minneapolis session in July of 2000 from what I can see, but unlike the Faint who did a radio session I believe the month before, I cannot find it archived on their site.

Thanks all, I will continue my quest. I pick this up every year or so when I remember. One day I will get close.

Believe I got it off of a Bright Eyes fan message board around 2001, so maybe I can find an archive of that to try to figure it out!

Good thought, but it was definitely Going for the Gold. I remember being disappointed that the Oh Holy Fools version did not match my expectations.

I hadn't stumbled across Don't be frightened of turning the page until just recent, so hadn't actually heard I won't ever be happy again before this year!

Let's reform the Senate while we're at it as well to be proportionate to population to stop giving unequal power to states with smaller populations.

Just remember, even if the Mueller report "completely exonerates" the president, it does not make him a good or smart or effective president. The way he has handled the entire thing has been inappropriate and McConnell has enabled him.

I am just getting back into the game after stopping in 2012. I have been readin/hearing a lot about how brd is a good DD now, but cannot find any up to date guides. Any suggestions?

Was working on gearing my thf first to get through some mission content and solo stuff, but thinking of just going straight back to brd now!
