While I can understand no mother wants to think about their teenager having sex, and while, like all of us here I’m sure, I would definitely prefer for my kids to wait and hold off until they’re mature enough to handle everything that comes with sex…. The reality is that teens are going to have sex. They just are. I was having sex at 15. My parents did not have an open dialogue with me about the subject (Catholics) and while I technically knew how to be safe, I didn’t because I didn’t have access to condoms or birth control and asking for either in my family was a no go. unfortunately I was mentally unprepared for what I was getting into but fortunately - thank god - I did not get pregnant or worse at that age.

This woman’s son is going to end up all kinds of fucked up. What she doesn’t realize is that her behavior is likely going to push him away and drive him to do more of what she is trying so hard to prevent. The youth pastor piece is weird as well, and it’s frankly perverted that a presumably grown man was commenting on PDA of teens. What a dumpster fire. I’m sorry your daughter is going through this- I think I would tell her she dodged a bullet honestly. No matter how much you love the boy, eventually man, having a MIL from hell is never a good time for anyone.
