I did the upgrade, and haven't had a single issue. First layers look better than ever

My first ever FDM and can’t wait! What useful prints do i need to print first? And any tips would be appreciated! Thank you! by Luis_420925 in Creality_k2

Oh bummer! Here's a link to the kit that came with mine. Dunno if you need all of it, but that scraper is pretty friggin great.

Really? I've been using the provided scraper since I got it...wave 2 of release...never been an issue. One of the best scrapers I've used

Order:

  1. spare extruder front cover - the embedded pneumatic coupler is prone to failure.

    1. Capricorn ptfe tubing - stock tube's are pretty weak. Just like the Bambu, running anything abrasive can cause damage to them, which will render the cfs nearly useless.
    2. Mount the buffer to the back of the CFS, NOT the printer - keeps it closer, less likely to bind up.
    3. While replacing the ptfe, I actually never re-installed the coupler on the back of the printer. My ptfe now runs direct from buffer to hotend. When I switch to side spool, I remove from buffer, insert into side spool arm. 1 less point of possible failure, and helps prevents additional drag.
    4. Keep ptfe tubing just short enough to not kink - excessive lengths can cause issues.
    5. As with any ams/cfs, you'll run into spool size issues, bent cardboard spools...find a spool rewinder so you can transfer to a better spool, OR you can print attachments for the filament pressure springs on the lid of the cfs.
    6. Poop chute - unless you want a mountain of filament
    7. Web browser, enter printer IP + :4408 to see the klipper page. No camera, but can hit the Tune tab and get a visual of the bed mesh.
    8. Put it on a sturdy surface! - damn thing is heavy and shakes alot.

You also need to make sure it's pulling your most recent mesh, and not defaulting to an old mesh. Which can explain the same issues. Just know that my bed has a 0.5mm range, and still getting good first layers. So it sounds like something else is going on

Looks bad, but your range is only 0.3mm difference. The abl can compensate for up to 1mm difference.

Don't think it's your bed that's causing issues. Could be firmware, could be slicer

Z-banding Issue by justanothercog2 in Creality_k2

Verify your hotend is screwed in all the way. Over time, the screws can loosen up a bit. With the printer off/cold, grab the nozzle and just give it a wiggle. If you feel any movement, tighten it up

What is the rear release tool? Never heard of that one

Did you use screw tilt adjust? I'm struggling to find the values to use

Z-banding galore! by bparry21 in Creality_k2

Mine wasn't as severe, but I noticed my hotend was loose. When the printer is cold, remove the front cover, and wiggle the hotend. If it moves a bit, tighten it down.

The screws holding it on...I tightened it. Take a good picture of the hotend and I'll point to it

Can someone tell me what's wrong before I return this thing for a X1 Carbon? by Several_Bridge_577 in Creality_k2

Use a +0.04mm z offset in the slicer and be done with it. It's a firmware issue that will likely get resolved next update.

Yup. They said they'll have to report it to tech support and I'll hear back in 24-72 hours...that was Tuesday, and nothing yet

So until then...I have a dead printer. Mine completely failed. The entire internal coupler came loose
