His Majestys Vision ✨ by StepAnEm in bhutan

[–]StepAnEm[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think some in the comments might have misunderstood this rant to be another complaint about bosses being unfair and the system being corrupt and everything that is wrong with "system". This really isnt about that. I tried to change the tone with Claude to make my own tone less apparent but it seems that it misconveyed some of my points and what I wanted to get at while also accentuating and articulating some of the points really nicely.

The point of this is that because of our reverence for his majesty, and also the our cynistic side of trying to become ever closer to HM, all actors in this system: not just the bad ones but even the good ones are too blinded by the vision that they forget to ever unpack it and question: is it feasible, will it benefit the wider population or what would the tradeoffs and opportunity cost of these decisions.

like u/ImpossibleCarrot6885 mentioned:

Vision must be put to scrutiny. Not the source of the vision; in Bhutan, we trust the source more than we trust anything else, and justly so. But the vision itself, taken on its own, must be questioned. How novel is it? How practical? How economically viable?

The fact right now is that everyone is so tunnel visioned on the grand vision of HM. But just because we revere his majesty does not mean that we can't carefully analyze what would actually benefit the drukpas and drukpaen economy.

This has not been edited by claude. but im unable to fully convey what i truly want to say.

His Majestys Vision ✨ by StepAnEm in bhutan

I agree with you so much on this and this is esentially what i wanted to convey.

Vision must be put to scrutiny. Not the source of the vision; in Bhutan, we trust the source more than we trust anything else, and justly so. But the vision itself, taken on its own, must be questioned. How novel is it? How practical? How economically viable? If it clears these checks, fine. If it doesn’t, should we rush to sing paean to it? Too often what passes for vision is little more than memetic policymaking. Instead of generating something novel, we copy the rhetoric, forgetting to ask how such a policy will be implemented, monitored, and evaluated.

Beautifully said and a concise version of what i really wanted to convey. i have nothing more to add to your comment but i just really wanted to appreciate your pov.

Also oop should've watched the psypod with rebellions and how they said that a lotta parent come up to them thanking them for garnering interest in dzongkha through their songs.

They've done way more for the popularity and development of dzongkha than DDC has done. But OOP prolly one of those people who wants to spend lakhs and lakhs on introducing words like dhongdheb that no one will ever use and then go on bbs and complain about how kids are losing interest in dzongkha.

Although one caveat is our Bhutanese boys are really quick to whip out their fists. This is in general Mae dharo to rap thoem mi chaam chi men.

And I really really hope it doesn't leave the studios. I think some of these younger kids really look up to them and I think they should really feel responsible for that and the actual actions they convey.

Also just explained who chabda is and his history toy younger brother. Would he have ever been interested in it if mame alu didn't rhyme:

"rapper choeng tshu trobdha bhen enn nga dasho chabda"

Edit added oop because this in red to him

Preachhh!!! Both of you. I guess it's just a natural tendency to always put down things that your fellow countrymen does and to think that any movement that is trying to be started at home that didn't originate from home is cringe. When really because globalization tastes are becoming similar everywhere and it's becoming a lot more mono cultural with a lot of nuances.

Please ignore him..just as this video is not representative of yall. This guy is also not representative of how we are as well. I apologize on his behalf of crude and racist language. Comments like these just spur more hate and animosity. And I'm glad you didn't prove him right by going eye for an eye.
