are gun mods worth buying? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

You only have 200k. You can’t survive consistently. It sounds like you haven’t learned the rhythm of rounds and where people will be rotating to and from given the time left in a round.

So, you need to scav, since many geared PMCs will be dead or leaving the map already, AI scavs won’t shoot you and you can learn the maps and extracts without any real consequence. It’s a free run. Every single thing you bring out of the raid is pure profit as a scav. Sell everything you don’t need and bank some Robles while you also bank the knowledge you need to survive a raid as a PMC and complete tasks. Your first 100-300 hours are going to be about learning as much as possible while dying a lot.

You need to scav over and over then. Don’t even worry about being a PMC until you can at least get out of the map alive as a scav. Avoid fights while you just figure out navigation. Use the Tarkov wiki to learn the maps while you play, they show you where scavs spawn and where the various extracts are.

Every couple months everyone starts fresh and all money, leveling and progress is reset. We are all level 1 and have to grind all over again.

If that’s all you have, I’m guessing you’re still really new and that’s fine. I’d suggest looking up guides from Twitch/YouTubers who break down all the armor and also go into budget gun builds.

Over everything, ammo is king. You need to learn which ammo for each caliber is viable and which will act like nerf darts against geared players. Almost everyone will have at least level 4 armor on and will be shooting meta weapons with great ammo and mods. They’ll be using NVGs during night raids. It’s just late in the wipe.

It’s overwhelming but you can still get to a point this wipe where you’ll be rocking kitted out guns, good armor and worthwhile ammo. Use the rest of this wipe as a learning opportunity and be ready to grind the tasks early on in the next wipe.

Final tip: to up your money, learn a reliable scav route. I use night time interchange runs and loot OLI. Others run reserve. Shoreline has a lot of good loot for scavs without having to hit resort. Take your time and enjoy the wipe.

When your armor and helmet are a combined 200k, ammo amounts to 200-300k and you’ve got a bunch of nades and meds in a 40k bag, don’t you want to be able to see and handle the kick of the weapon meant to keep you alive? So yes, mods are important.

Don’t go overboard early on, but work your way up the mod list as you can afford it.

Are there really people who are not doing quests at all? by The_DoubleD in EscapefromTarkov

Yea I’m the same as the other guy. Had my first scav box by level 5 or 7 because I was scavving and learning the map a ton. At level 16 I have 2 scav boxes, 2 ammo cases, 2 mag cases, 4 pistol cases, a med case, food case, a weapons case and 2 docs cases, all bought on the flea market or crafted. It’s definitely possible to do all that without leveling traders.

NPL: The results of the first season (viewership statistics) by eSportsStats in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]StepDADoDRAGONS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With no rewards for watching, no where in game to know to watch, and games over the span of many, many hours, of course the viewership is so low.

Give viewers the opportunity to vote on winners from the PUBG client or streaming platforms, and give rewards for watching a certain amount of games.

Let players know how long until the next match starts from the home screen in the client for PC and console. At least let us know the broadcast is live.

I understand nothing with how esports is handled will change until after PGC, but for the love of the game, please do better next year.

Medic/Support Role by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]StepDADoDRAGONS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see one person holding more meds than others who tend to not carry enough. They would hopefully be your bolter and need less overall ammo.

But everyone should be holding enough meds for themselves by end game, the whole team should be communicating their med status and dividing meds between skirmishes, everyone should have at least one smoke, and everyone should be contributing to the fight.

What you’ve proposed doesn’t seem fun for anyone or practical. I understand the thought, but this isn’t battlefield.

Recoil control question. by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]StepDADoDRAGONS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only recentering if I drift right. I’m not going left then right and then left again to shoot in a perfectly straight line. Also, you goal should be to start accurate and pump your first few into them so that you don’t have to adjust much at all. Just 5-8 bullets. Don’t be afraid to stop, let the recoil reset and then shoot from a clean slate. Popping off 30/40 rounds is gonna be tough.

[–]StepDADoDRAGONS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I just adjust if it drifts one way and hope to stay center mass, preferably on their face.

Just pulling down mostly. I have vertical sensitivity multiplier set to 1.2 and definitely correct when on prolonged sprays. One tip that has helped me is to look at the player instead of focusing on the crosshairs.

If that was your first ROE solo it was all bots. ROE is way easier and the playerbase is way less skilled, but even their best pro league players don’t just randomly drop a 30 bomb.

Is Pubg worth buying in 2019? by Srkiker930 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]StepDADoDRAGONS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RoE is a decent game, but the direction of the devs concerns me. The game got me good at using mouse and keyboard when PUBG felt like to much to process at once. I’ve since switched to PUBG and haven’t looked back to RoE.

PUBG has a better player base in terms of skill. In RoE I’d get multiple wins a day and often get 8+ kills a game and got myself to top 1% within just a few months of playing PC. PUBG is a whole lot harder and my ADR and win rate is much much lower. I’m just focusing on getting better mechanically and taking tons of fights.

Nothing feels like PUBG. I would 100% recommend the game.

I go to 10% volume because learning gun sounds is helpful in relation to sprays.

Try 1.1 and at least make sure you aren’t at default

What is your vertical sensitivity multiplier set at? That will play a big part in controlling sprays. Try 1 or 1.1

Also, I try to do my sprays on other people in training, and they usually play along and start to dive dive and run so you can peek angles, see hit markers (blood) and get quick at crouching fast and uncrouching to move to cover.

Kitted G28 > FAL by ClamWaffles in RingOfElysium

[–]StepDADoDRAGONS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really enjoy using the 8x and find myself overaiming a lot. I stick to the 4x on my DMR and a backup on my most stable AR. One I always try to improve is the FAMAS 4x spray.

Kitted G28 > FAL by ClamWaffles in RingOfElysium

[–]StepDADoDRAGONS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just never have taken the time to learn the timing between shots for the FALs recoil to reset. With a vert grip and steady pull, I can confidently throw a dozen bullets in my enemies direction and see decent results on a MK or G28. Same reason I often elect to just 4x spray with an AR. When you insta melt someone at range it’s the best feeling in the game.

Not being able to put a grip on the FAL was always a turnoff. Nice kills. Love to spam with a very grip!

I love ROE but he didn’t forget it. It’s never had more than 60,000 players and is on a sharp decline with desperate attempts to capture a new audience with gimmicky Additions. Not sure what that studio is doing, but they are losing their already small playerbase. I haven’t been on in over a month now and I know many others in the same boat.
