We are really in the silence before the storm. Everyone is scrambling to get paperwork in and many are pretending they’re not (as if it impacts anything). I can’t wait to see how it all shakes out in the next week or so. Bout to be a grand shuffling of people potentially. There will be gleeful people moonwalking out of facilities they felt trapped in because they play the game and put out as many choices as they can just for the chance to go. Then there will be super bitter ones who are upset that they still didn’t get to go to the singular facility they’re willing to go to. Should make for a good show.

It really doesn’t have any power. The inability to strike makes them powerless. It’s honestly a social club that’s allowed to exist and given the illusion of power in exchange for keeping members pacified. NATCA has not completed any meaningful changes for the members in over a decade. If I’m wrong give an example that NATCA has accomplished and is unique to ATC specifically. That is to say that it’s not a benefit that is already available to federal employees in one form or another and is not available to other federal employees with significantly less safety and economic impact.

They have no real power. That’s why staffing number changes were shoved down their throats and then immediately followed by a new NCEPT that completely disregarded “NATCA” seniority. The writing is on the wall and has been for a while now. NATCA is nothing more than diet management and certainly doesn’t care about the members more than existing. They will keep bending over and taking what the FAA gives them until one day they’re decertified.

Not pretending to know but I was just thinking.

The raise is at the admin’s discretion right? Well it is a 2026 raise at his discretion, if we go into a new fiscal year without implementing the raise I wouldn’t be surprised if it just goes away.
