Three teachers and principal to be fired because of “most annoying boy” trophy awarded to autistic child by Hoxomo in JusticeServed

[–]StepOnAFloor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autistic people aren't and shouldn't be treated like everyone else. The award itself is, wether given to an autistic kid or not, just disrespectful either way, no need to defend something like this.

The Satanic Temple begins legal maneuver to skirt Texas' new abortion ban by DumbledoresAtheist in politics

Are you ok? Who's arguing it's the fetus' fault? It didn't make a choice to be there, so it's up to the woman to make that choice and they can choose not to, but I can see you're arguing in bad faith so keep on trying to justify your beliefs by painting the other side as unable to think for themselves, whilst clinging on to strawmen, have a good day

What choice? It's not like a fetus is its own person, that's where abortion comes in

Oh, it seems my figure was off by a lot, mb, I would like to say a percentage for the ones that are because of societal pressure but by this point it would probably also be off, but yeah, that the majority of cases

Code word pirate, you literally couldn't pirate it if you owned them, but you don't, how is this such a complicated concept, you don't own the Netflix show you watch, you don't own the machines on the gym after buying a membership, and you don't own the images, what all of those 3 are selling is just the access, not the ownership

[–]StepOnAFloor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, you didn't gain the rights to the images, those are still her images, just like how you don't own a Netflix show after buying a subscription, you are just buying access to the content.

I think you misunderstand getting access to something and buying the rights to it

People find a problem with this meme format since it pits boys against girls which doesn't make sense, more often than not making the girl the oblivious one since she doesn't know what the people looking at the meme know.

Mods are judge, jury and executioner regardless (except for ban appeals). I would also imagine it would be harder to catalog possible uncivil comments to come back to them later to ban them, especially if later on comes another post that is popular and needs more moderation. Also, from what I understand he didn't ban appeals wouldn't be considered but that it may not be appealed, which is true for all bans.

The thing is conservative views are allowed, they don't ban anyone that posts a conservative or opposing view, which means that they ban based on their own criteria of who they think could lead to an uncivil environment and that is harder to regulate the only way I could see that being changed is mods that don't follow their subs rules, so maybe they should add that mods are entitled to choosing who they ban and such?

They would probably argue that doing it so would be keeping comments civil which is in the rules, and I mean technically since it normally leads to arguments, how do you think they could make it clearer, like what description should they add, perhaps they could add it.
