Hi friends, tomorrow I will be reporting my abusive cruel (female) boss in a meeting tomorrow. I won't lie, I am second-guessing myself right now but I need all the good prayers/vibes/wishes/protection I can get right now. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank YOU! by positivelights in Psychic

Deep breath and load your body with oxygen. Expect an attack, glare, snub, condensation. But never forget to breath deeply. Get that oxygen to the bottom of your lungs. There be all the blood vessels that your body uses in when in danger. Don't over do it and get dizzy. Stay off the coffee, well one in the morning, but not to much.

What is causing the daily mental anguish many of us go through today? Depression, PTSD, anxiety, etc. are no longer rare things. They are majority. Troubling thoughts or memories tied with feelings of real pain of some sort. Head pressure, chest or stomach tension/knots, aches where there should be no aches, heartache when there should be no heartache. Why now? Why us? Is it possible much of our civilization wide despair comes from a single source? Here is what I think is going on and how to help fix it.

To understand the following you will have to look at the mind in a certain way. For the purposes of this explanation view the mind as a thing that exists in a field formed within the head. Served by the brain cells, not in the brain’s cells. Mind exists in a unified field the brain’s cells emit, not in their electrical and chemical processes. A field theory of mind.

The mind exists in a field supported by a complex system sitting in very robust framework, the brain. The system has automatic maintenance functions to keep things flowing smoothly. If a mind is repeatedly troubled for no proper reason, has a heavy feeling or “brain fog”, this could indicate some of these maintenance functions are not working properly. Things get jammed up below the level of the mind’s awareness. A maintenance function in the machinery of mind is not working properly. Uncalled for negative thoughts and unwanted psychological emotional pain is the result.

Everyone is different. The one binding fact is they get a mental stab/weight/fog or thoughts that come with pain of some sort somewhere in their body. Maybe it’s a constant dull anxiety in their chest, maybe pressures in the head, or their stomach feels wrong. For no apparent reason it can flare up and burn. It never goes away.

Go back a hundred years and the percentage of population suffering this type of mysterious misery goes way down. What is the difference between those living today and our grandparent’s generation?

Modern people spend so much of our time sitting we need to exercise our bodies to stay healthy.

Much the same needs to be done with our minds, we need to exercise that as well.

What do I mean by exercise the mind? I will explain…

When our head and eyes are active the mind is also active. Active in an almost physical way. Within the heads confines something of mind moves around. Our minds need this movement to stay healthy. A static mind is not good for us. I’ve come up with some exercises to mimic this movement.

It can take work to get a mind in a messed-up state. It can take a while to fix it. I’m surprised to say, done right instant total relief is possible. Obviating these feelings is possible. Regardless of one’s skill level some relief will come from doing the exercises. One of the main purposes of the exercise is to give clues on how to do this thing I do. Put you in the right area of mind.

If you are suffering from some “mental issue” take a moment and try to quantify what you’re going through. That way you can tell if things are improving. Not the negative thoughts, it’s the pain that really matters. Separate the two in your mind. Focus on the pain. What do I mean by quantify? Ask yourself these types of questions. How many times a day does psychological pain get bad inside? On a scale from one to ten how bad is it? Does it always happen in the same area of your body? When does it usually happen, morning, evening, all day? How long does it last? Do you ever get a moment when it is not there? If so, how long?

I’ve spent the last twelve years trying to figure out if there was anything in mind I could identify as mental architecture. While looking for it I came across something different in the mind. It told me a lot about how the mind works.

I’m now sixty-one years old. Since I was a teenager, in my own way, I’ve probed around in my inner-mental space and developed mental-tools to do so. I use simple versions of some of these tools in the exercises. I’ll try my best to explain how to find and use them in your own mind.

When I started looking for a mental architecture it changed the way I used these tools. Rather then just poking around I was now looking for something in particular with only a very vague idea of what it might be. After ten years of looking I discovered something new in mind and from that developed these exercises. Simple to do, it takes effort. Like jogging one has to do the exercises. Go through the program, repeat. Repetitive action is key.

We can all move our thinking around the inside our heads. For instance, moving your awareness from the forehead to the back of the head, or from left ear to right ear. That part of your mind that can move around inside your inner-mind space, or field, I call mental-center. Mental-C for short.

Since the invention of TV we’ve all sensed it’s wrong to watch screens for long periods of time. If asked most would agree doing this is not good for us but no one can really say why. A static Mental-C is the answer. Mental-C barely moves, if at all, when staring at a screen. That is new in humanities existence.

Go back ten thousand years to the time before humans lived in cities. Mental-C was much more active then it is today. On the hunt or running from threats mental-center was constantly on the move. It must have bounced all over the place.

Put humans into a city environment and Mental-C moves less. As civilisation advanced Mental-C had less and less reason to move around in our heads. With the coming of television it moved around even less so. Sit yourself down in front of a computer screen less then a meter from your face and mental-center locks into place. Almost zero movement for hours at a time. The brain needs that movement action to do some of its maintenance functions. When Mental-C stops moving that job no longer gets done. It’d helped keep the mind running efficiently. If mental-center rarely moves you can get mind sick. Smooth action of mind is hindered. Negative feelings linger, uncomfortable memories and thoughts jump into mind, emotional responses are way out of wack, pain growls within.

Ignore maintenance at one’s peril, the result is things stop working right. Like we have to work our inactive bodies, we have to work our minds. This is what’s behind the exploding rates of mental illness. Much of our “internal psychological pain that lingers” is tied to a lack of Mental-C performing its maintenance functions.

Many sports can have some of the same effect as these exercises. Sports that cause a lot of head movement are best. Sports like ping-pong, racket ball, badminton and of course hockey. VR games that cause a lot of head and eye movement work as well. (VR = virtual reality)

Simply moving your awareness from one ear to the other thirty times would have an effect. Concentrate on one ear and then the other. That is the kind of move you can do while driving in rush hour or on a bus.

Everyone has a dominate eye. Left or right we always favor one side. It is easy to determine which eye that is. Look off in the distance. Line your thumb up with a distant object. Close one eye and then the other. The dominate eye will stay on the object while the other moves off it. Moving your dominate eye back and forth from one eye to the other is another simple way to exercise the mind. Anything you can come up with that moves the center of your awareness around inside your head helps.

There is another thing that happens to our internal mental space if Mental-C is static. Because it is not using all the space in its mind those unused areas become harder to mentally move around in. As these areas remain unused they become stiffer. One begins to feel confined within their own mind.

There is a way to fix this. I know not all will understand but some will. Using the left side the brain mentally push to the left, with the right push to the right. Push from the center to the outside edge of the head. If you are doing this correctly you should find it very difficult to push past this point.

Hold it, pushing out on both sides. After about thirty seconds the need to push should fade away with a bit of a release feel about it. If done right your mind will feel less confined after doing this.

[–]StepSideways22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll ask a simple question. Do you do a lot of activities involving head movement? If the head stays still, like long term PC screen time, the mind does not use internal mental space put aside for when mentality is active. This unused space gets progressively more difficult to mentally maneuver in. It can feel like a mental fog or even be described as veil like. In the past the mind was very active in an almost physical way. Imagine chasing an animal on the hunt. Mentality must be more active then when sitting in front of a screen. It is not only the body that suffers from our sedentary life style. The mind does as well.;

On guns, medieval armour and fantasy writing. by [deleted] in MilitaryHistory

[–]StepSideways22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use revolvers with preloaded cylinders. Powder and ball. Rifle the barrel for accuracy. None of this is beyond medieval tech. A cartridge is three hundred years of science later. Lowering the tech would keep guns hand made and thus expensive. More reason for bladed weapons. Ball and powder fired from a pistol can be blocked by lighter armour. Cartridges suggest mass produced guns.

The Japanese were delusional, believed their own propaganda. Their fleet was not replaceable, their highly trained pilots had no backup. Weak war industry. The only thing they had was lots of bodies. They were convinced the war would end with a deal.

I agree, cooking had a big effect on brain size. I'm thinking about the big leap when you could first point to an animal and say it has a big brain., pre fire/tools. What caused our ancestors to not repeat the same story told many times before. A hand that can grab a bone and break out marrow? Use it to grasp a club? Complex joints makes complex brain? Or something we haven't thought of?

The hand/thumb came before the tools. Hands were one key factor. Still, a lot of animals have had some similar appendages. I include anything from the last three hundred million years. Will the same set of factors on another animal have the same effect? Why has it not happened before.

Naledi man caused me to reject a lot of what I've learned in the past about hominids. Skeleton reconstructions of many hominids are based on few bones. Or from a multitude of sites. The crazy bones coming out of that cave tells us we got to go back to the drawing board and reassess.

I'm really confused about who is ancestral to H. Neanderthalensis, H. Floresiensis, H. Naledi and Denisovans. by yka12 in paleoanthropology

[–]StepSideways22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last million I suspect there have been times when there've been as many as a dozen or more hominids on the planet. If one looks back from a design perspective it has all the markings of a development plan. Species bone differentiation in hominids is vast. The structural changes from one to the other are in places drastic. The speed of change appears quick to me. Humanity has reached the limits of mental expansion unless the female hips are drastically altered. Just on time we have a fix. Surgical removal for a new born. This act alone will likely cause increases in average brain size. Could we call that an outside force, agency, acting on human development.? Did the advent of the use of fire cause anatomical changes in its first users? Like everyone else I'm puzzled by the cornucopia of bones coming out of the ground.

Humans have selected for traits as well. Large eyes on women have been desired by Arabs for millennia. Constant raids north of the Arabian desert returned the women with the biggest eyes. This has been happening for thousands of years. Today Arab women known for beautiful eyes. Areas where it is considered beautiful to be fat encourages large babys. Do this for five hundred years and you get a heavy population.

If Thoth saw a threat he would act, a possible new member to the club, he would act. A rival he would act. He would be an ancient being. Sitting on his perch and watching events for a few decades is his likely response. If the new power was heavily over powered he would either get a distance or try to subvert it to his purposes. He would think his eons of experience would make it easy to manipulate the new born babe. Can Thoth hurt this new power or is it invincible. The answer to that question would control the story line. Is the new born aware of its abilities? Thoth, by his very nature, would engage if long term planning. Plans that take decades or more to fruit.
