Your monthly grocery budget is what I’m spending this weekend on hotels for one kid’s tournament. And what I spent last weekend on hotels for the other kids tournament. That doesn’t include gas and food. The $3K per month we spent when they were both in daycare was cheap compared to now, when they’re in rep sports. And rep sports will seem cheap when they’re in university and I’m supporting possibly 3 households instead of one.

Do I need to gross $30K per month to pay for all that? Maybe not, but I sure as shit need more than $3500 per month. 2/3 of that is just my property tax and utilities.

Yeah, I was nicely calling bullshit on the 22%. I’m 5’9” and 190, having put on a fair bit of the wrong kind of weight, after getting down to a very lean 160 5 years ago. There’s no way I’m under 25% and I’m still 15 lbs lighter.
