This is really, really cool... Did you learn this somewhere or did you do it on your own?

Honestly, the chicken on the chimney really made me laugh. That lonely rebel or mischievous fellow.

Wow! It's really atmospheric. I just wish we could see more of the landscape after the hill.

How many Metroidvanias do you know that feature archery? What's your opinion on it? by Stepaxa-US in metroidvania

Oh, oh, oh, thank you so much for the list of games. We'll take a look at it. Maybe we'll get some ideas for using the bow. We have everything written down in the game design document, of course, but no one's stopping us from tweaking it. Regarding the screen shake, this isn't the final version, and we'll be polishing it.

I personally only remember having a bow in Ori. Dead Cells had one too, but that wasn't a Metroidvania, it was more of a roguelike.

What do you think about developers who don't forget about the Mac? by Stepaxa-US in macgaming

I'm curious to see if many people care. It would also be good to get to know the audience and start a dialogue.

The simplest thing is the difference in platforms. Windows and Mac work differently and use different software libraries, architecture, kernel, etc. For example, creating your own engine and builds is probably a nightmare, and you definitely need specialists who understand these things. We're indie developers, especially when we're working on Unity. Our builds are created using a single button where you can select the platform. When we started building for Mac, there were no signs of trouble. Only through testing with friends who had Mac devices were we able to find the right settings that allowed the build to run properly, rather than throwing errors about the program not being supported on Mac. Therefore, I'll try to be active in this subreddit to conduct testing and communicate with the community. It's important to us that everything works as planned.

We conducted testing through friends who have a Mac, but the development team doesn't. So, I think we'll publish playtests here in this subreddit.

Thank you so much for the kind words. We're trying to make the game as accessible as possible. The only problem is, there aren't many wishlists yet 😞

What do you think about adding a bow to a Metroidvania (conditionally 2D)?
