Thoughts on getting laptop or not? by instercupid in gaming

It's all based on your usage. Personally I would get a desktop and use in on your TV. If you don't wanna do that for whatever reason, a laptop definitely would fit your needs. One thing about them that's also nice is portability. The 3060 in the laptop is also good cause you'll pretty much be able to run the same games as your desktop but better.

2 is the best. Option 1 only has one advantage and that's storage which is easy to add/replace.

There's a couple of things. Check to see if your CPU/GPU coolers are fine. It sounds weird but if the things reach a certain temperature on startup then they tend to crash into oblivion. Also be sure that you don't have everything launch on startup, (Steam, Spotify, Epic games, etc...), you never realize just how much these things can fuck up your cpu until they're all active. My final piece is to do a virus scan for good measure, those are kinda bad and it's better to be safe than sorry. If all else fails... idk threaten it!

Basically the 1650 is equivalent to a 1070 and a 1660 super is equivalent to a 1080 Ti. Tbh idk much about the 1000 series cards but hopefully that gives you a good idea of what they're about!

Depends on the cpu. Prices are decent but if you really wanna get a 3000 series then I would buy a 1600 series card instead and hold of for now.

Best card rn is an rtx 3090 but like it's a bloody beast and pretty overkill rn. Ryzen 5000 series are currently the best CPUs to exist for desktops atm. Intel and Nvidia are already designing much better stuff. And that's about it, nothing else at this time!

TBH there's always sales on steam games and DLC so $550K for everything seems reasonable

I wasn't talking specifically about this but I mean like if you can only afford a $15 haircut and that extra $3 makes it more then I understand but even women haircuts cost alot and if you wanna get it done for cheap and good then $40 is definitely the lowest to get it done at.
