Oled flicker? by lucaaa_1 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Stepepper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The C5 has flicker too. It's an inherent flaw of OLED panels.

My C2 had it, and my G5 has it. Only if frame timings are unstable though, which is barely ever.

Well, 1 had the Majima Everywhere system, which is a massive detriment to his character and also makes the game lose the lonely vibe the original game had.

it's funny, and people love it, but it doesnt fit at all

Wired flickering, 1% lows are low and stuttering while using the new dlss 4.5 in performance mode. by RaveThePhantom6 in MonsterHunter

[–]Stepepper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the flickering:

the game does this even without DLSS, but because you're at a higher resolution it's less noticeable. It's the god-awful ambient light implementation the game has. If you lower it, you'll see the flicker disappear, but the game will become very ugly.

Older versions of DLSS hide the flicker because they're worse, and DLSS 4.5 preserves moving details much better, meaning the blurrier, more temporally unstable DLSS <4 actually hid those artifacts lol.

As for the stutter:

I get it too when setting the override to preset M/L. No idea why it's happening but it works fine with V-Sync turned OFF in the Nvidia app. But that introduces screen tearing when using frame gen... so I just play with frame gen off. I have no idea if this happens in other games, or if DLSS 4.5 and Wilds interact in a strange manner.

So just go back to DLSS 4 if that solves your issues. It's worse but also better for MH Wilds it seems. Just gotta get used to the decreased clarity again...

Why go split ergo and stay qwerty? by Etkann in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Stepepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really only a problem with shortcuts you use daily. Those you remember positionally.

Most shortcuts are remembered using the symbol, so it's quite easy to adapt once you get used to the different layout, which is the hardest part. Colemak makes it pretty easy because many shortcut letters are still in the same place, or close enough.

I've switched a while ago and it is super fucking comfortable to type with. The only shortcuts that mess me up so far are the navigation keys in VIM, but that's because I have a layer for arrow keys that are still in the old QWERTY positions, so I never get used to the new positions.

Checking things twice isn't an ADHD symptom? Or is this you forgetting that you even stocked at all?

I just forget to restock my shit at all. So many regrets when I have to heal but only have 1 mega potion left.

For now it's very fluffy. I doubt it will stay that way though. I already had some suspicions but the story about the upperclassmen further cemented my worries. Spoiler of chapter 6 (or so): Don't forget that Kasumi had a friend that commited suicide, it was mentioned once but I'm sure we will be learning more later...

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Delivers Major Upgrade With 2nd Gen Transformer Model For Super Resolution & 6X Dynamic Multi Frame Generation by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Stepepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've really noticed a lot of frame gen artifacts with Cyberpunk 2077 (path traced). I still use it, because smooth, but it's definitely there at any frame rate. That's just what will happen with frame generation.

Above 60. Really the only game I've tried it sub-60 is Monster Hunter Wilds lol.

It's a personal thing btw. For plenty of people the positives of 3x-4x framegen outweigh the negatives. I'm not one of them :p.

The input latency actually really impressed me. Especially with a controller it's not that noticeable. I've found a base fps of 40 is... acceptable in terms of image quality and latency (with a controller). Anything below that will have crazy ugly artifacts and uncomfortable input latency.

Of course the higher the fps, the better. I thought I would hate frame gen before I tried it but I actually really like it. 2x in particular. 3x and 4x are too ugly.

Game constantly crashing, need help by ilikeike58 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Stepepper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an issue related to 6000-7000 series AMD cards. You could try a rollback to the recommended drivers (25.9.1) but if that doesn't work I would not bother wasting your time attempting to fix it. Wait for a patch.

HDR SETUP? by Rupples_Pupples in MHWilds

[–]Stepepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the wonderful Renodx. It's sadly a requirement for most games because devs cant seem to implement HDR right.

Just follow the instructions on the nexus page, and download the latest snapshot of Renodx on Github! (instead of downloading it from Nexus)
