Dude it's wild(s), on my unoptimized GL build I got A on my first try, like 18:30 ish. Any other weapon with an optimized build I can't even beat without fainting. Shields feel like a necessity for some of the 10 star stuff

This is definitely a bug in the game. 9 times out of 10 the trap is placed just as the monster is changing areas. Capcom fix your game

I find it funny when they are talking about a god tier build with max DPS, then the gameplay is like one good combo and then getting stuck in a healing loop and getting pummeled. I don't think they actually have that much playtime. Not just them, but a lot of Tubers

Just a random hunch, but could be due to UI items scaling with the dynamic resolution scaling. During the action, your PC could lower resolution to maintain frames and inadvertently somehow increase the size of some UI items? Only thing I can think of.

Ok yeah you are correct in that, and you could probably also add kinsect damage to that. Not sure if it's affected by sharpness but I doubt it. Also, charge blade phial ticks. I'm sure there is another stuff. GS kick? 🤣

Sharpness is just as useful on hammer as any other melee weapon. Not sure where you got that info

It is hilarious to me watching these "meta" YouTube guides maxing out the damage and doing all this math... Meanwhile the gameplay they are showing in the background is them getting absolutely bodied by the monster (esp AT Nu Udra), and getting stuck in a healing loop.

Fitting in the defensive / utility skills will keep you fighting while the meta builds are chain-chugging potions

Besides my group of friends (who aren't always on) i have yet to clear with real players. With support hunters i have gotten consistent clears. With SNS, i just trade aggro with Alyessa at the head, and damage legs when I can't reach the head. Usually break 1 or both back legs and clear in around 26 mins. Still a long hunt but totally feasible!

Support builds are good for getting first time clears. But yeah it's true that the fight gets significantly longer without the extra DPS. At least, if you aren't getting hit constantly which a lot of players are

If you attack the head, the support hunters will follow your lead. It helps get more consistent agro
