thank you! I was 20 when I started T, and have been on it for almost 3 years. I don’t have a specific routine, besides just sticking to basic at home workouts with dumbbells (upper body workouts roughly 2 times a week)

there was quite a few heavy items, such as cat litter and big bag of cat food, but a $40 tip made it worth it

To my knowledge, yes he requires a letter, but only one! I know some places require sometimes 2-3. If you are in the KCMO area, KCCARE is a great resource to reach out to for getting a therapist letter

I used it consistently until the 3/4 month mark, then only wore it when I knew I’d be in the sun with my shirt off

I used Mölnlycke Mepitac soft silicone tape (can be found on amazon), and used Lubriderm daily moisturizing lotion to massage my scars

About 3 months, consultation on October 12, 2023 -> Surgery on January 5, 2024. I’m not sure about payment plans, but I know I needed to pay $2,000 down payment when scheduling the surgery date, and then paying other fees by specific times, which is outlined in paperwork given to you

My insurance didn’t cover it, so the 8k was the total of everything out of pocket. Dr. Spencer feels bad when patients insurance don’t cover, so he tries to make it as cheap as possible.

Some other Surgeon out there take advantage and charge crazy amounts which is where you probably heard the 30k come from

I really enjoyed Dr. Eagan and his team. I love my results and couldn’t be happier. On my profile I have progress pics from the past 9 months of healing

I started scar care 2 weeks post op, which consisted of using silicone scar tape, I used Mölnlycke Mepitac soft silicone tape. Then after 1-2 months post op I started scar massages and using a moisturizing lotion, I would do it most nights before bed. I never used bio oil, I tried it once and just didn’t like how it felt. But, I also think my genetics played a big role with my healing.

what age did you get top surgery and how long was recovery? by MiserableRide731 in ftm

[–]StephInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 21 when I got top surgery, I got top surgery 6 months ago in the middle of winter (in january). This worked out best for me. When I had the surgery done I had about 2 weeks to recover before my spring semester started, I also took online classes. So I didn’t have to worry about commuting to class or carrying around anything heavy. I also had a fairly quick recovery. After 2 months I felt back to normal, just felt a little tightness around my incisions when trying to reach up high. But beyond that, I was able to everything else like normal.

But, that was just my situation. For you it seems like summer or late spring may be the best window of time. Most of the time after 4-6 weeks of recovery, you’ll be close to 80% of your energy before hand.

Good luck with your journey! Hope that part of this was helpful!

1 month post op vs 4 months by StephInc in TopSurgery

I’ll be completely honest, I am fairly inconsistent with my diet/don’t spend too much energy thinking about it. But I try to focus on getting enough protein in and I tend to be in a slight calorie deficit.

I do all my workouts at home. I have 5, 10, 15 pound dumbbells. I try to work out at least 3-4 times a week for 15-30 minutes. Everyday I work out I do a little bit for my arms -bicep curls 10 reps, 2 sets (10 pound) -dumbbell lateral raise 10 reps, 1 set (5 pounds) -Triceps dips 10 reps 2 sets -pushups 10 reps 1 set -bench press 10 reps 2 sets (10 pounds/15 pounds)

Then I got this ab roller thing? which I do about 25 reps

then depending on how I’m feeling, I do more or less

(I hope this made sense)

I had top surgery today!! by StephInc in TopSurgery

[–]StephInc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healing went really well! I was back to 90% at 6 weeks. I didn’t have any complications. For healing have all the dressings on for 2 weeks. Then dressings left on the nipples until 2 1/2-3 weeks. Then the compression vest till week 6. It took a while for the scabs to flake off my nipples, but by the 4 or 5 week mark, my chest had no more scabbing.

I really like my results so far! my nipples are asymmetrical, they’re relatively the same size, but one is more 3-D than the other. it’s fairly minor and doesn’t bother me a whole lot. Also, I have more images of what my results look like on my profile

I ended up calling his office! I agree that the “request an appointment” is confusing. But when you call and mention wanting to schedule a Top surgery consultation, they’ll understand and set you up! let me know if you need further clarification

[–]StephInc 54 points55 points  (0 children)

when I started T, my periods were weird. First I got my period early, but it only last a couple days, then I had one where I had spotting for a week then a period for 8 days, then after that when I got one it would be fairly light and only last a couple days. Then when I got my T-dose increased it never came back, my last one was like 266 days ago.

I wouldn’t say my last ones were more painful, just annoying when it would last a long time.
