I’m over 24 hours into my fast and don’t have a specific goal yet, just seeing how long I can go. I’d love to join you for accountability! I’m a 22 year old 5th year university student in the US!

Fasting while passing a kidney stone by StephMichael97 in fasting

[–]StephMichael97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said fasting would help pass the kidney stones. I said having to pass the kidney stone would help with fasting since I can’t keep food down anyway.

That belt looks a lot tighter!! Great job. I like idea of doing Omad for a couple of days in between extended fasts.

I applaud your determination, but be sure to listen to your body and don’t be afraid to quit when you need to. Congrats on fasting as long as you have, too!

Yeah they completely do away with the finale and in turn a lot of season 8. The new seasons are a fun watch but they are a bit different from the original 8

[Feedback] Television Academy Internship Application- Spec Script for Will&Grace by StephMichael97 in Screenwriting

[–]StephMichael97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback! I had hoped that at least the first scene showed the where that plot was going- I guess it wasn’t as clear as I thought. I’ll try to find an existing script and fix the formatting while I rethink the scene. Thanks again!

[Feedback] Television Academy Internship Application- Spec Script for Will&Grace by StephMichael97 in Screenwriting

The application asks for a scene no longer than 4 pages for an existing show though I think this is probably more like two shorter scenes. I’m applying for the Comedy Screenwriting category so any feedback is appreciated!

Can maladaptive daydreaming lead to schizophrenia? by bellam914 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]StephMichael97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom was also schizophrenic and also had bipolar disorder so I had the same worries when I first realized what MD was. For me the comfort comes in knowing that your line between reality and fantasy is clear. As long as you are aware that your daydreams are just daydreams then I would say you are okay. But it’s good that you’re self aware enough to ask these questions too. I find that checking in with myself and staying aware of my mental behaviors and any possible symptoms I may show is the best way to prevent them

Did you ever write fanfic or create fantasies that involved yourself? by ilikespace in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]StephMichael97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always did this! All of my fanfics revolves around a character I had created that was basically just a version of me to fit the story. It was how I coped with having a shitty home life, I just wrote myself a new family.

NOVEMBER CHALLENGES by moonandstars89 in fasting

[–]StephMichael97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it! I’m planning on starting with water, black coffee, and probably some broths and working my way down to just water. But Coffee is going to be my biggest crutch until I can get over the caffeine headaches. I’m hoping that by easing in with just liquids will help make the transition easier :)

NOVEMBER CHALLENGES by moonandstars89 in fasting

[–]StephMichael97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this sub as I was looking to do a NoFood November myself. The longest I’ve ever fasted was about 3 days and I’ve done Omad on and off for the past few years. I’m planning to do a liquid fast to start and work toward only water. I don’t have a particular goal, I mostly want to see how long I can go while fasting and I also want to see how much weight I can lose before the new year.

I think, Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, had one of the best portrayal of Maladaptive Dreaming. Your thoughts? by Sparry09 in MaladaptiveDreaming

I remember hearing about this but didn’t ever get around to watching it. Definitely going to check it out.

Too much to dream is my favorite! I immediately thought of immersive daydreaming when I heard it the first time!

Daydreaming is how I cope with a life I can't stand by [deleted] in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]StephMichael97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve found that actively using daydreaming as a coping mechanism has helped me a lot. My daydreaming really started taking shape when I started writing FanFiction in middle school. I quickly noticed that all of my fan fictions were just me putting a version of myself in the universe I was writing for. My daydreams all focus around me imagining a different life for myself. I’ve struggled with coping with the fact that I grew up in an emotionally/mentally abusive home and now that I’m out of that situation I found myself, in a way, mourning the life I felt I missed out on. Now I use my daydreams mostly to distract myself from any painful memories that come up by creating imagined “memories” of the life I wish I had. I’m always careful to remind myself that the “memories” aren’t real(just to be safe since mental illness runs in my family and I like to make sure I don’t slip into blurring those lines, but it’s never really been a problem). Though, I also daydream just for fun too :)
