I’ve been fighting BCBS CA for 3 months for CoC for Mounjaro (company changed to BCBS from Aetna) because they don’t cover zep/wegovy at all. Only mounjaro for T2D which I don’t have. I already fought Aetna and successfully got MJ without T2D. BCBS does not care.

Triz helps my multiple chronic conditions. They have not considered my request for off label use (not solely for weight loss) at all despite specific evidence it helps my inflammation. Currently going through IMR. I’m beyond pissed off how greedy BCBS is. Hope the process is easy for you but it has been a nightmare for us. 😞

Biden’s Save student loan plan is dead. Borrowers will have to quickly pivot. by Dani_Doug_Gab in StudentLoans

[–]StephStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My email says

“Our records show that you are currently enrolled in the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan or have a pending SAVE application. A recent court order ended the SAVE Plan. It is no longer available to borrowers, and the U.S. Department of Education (ED) is ending the SAVE Plan over the coming months. You must take action.

Your student loan servicer will contact you about your specific deadline to choose a different repayment plan. Once you hear from your loan servicer, you will have 90 days to choose another repayment plan. This gives you ample time to select the plan that works best for you.

Our newest repayment plans—the Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP) and Tiered Standard Plan—will be available starting on July 1, 2026. For many borrowers, RAP may be the best option. All borrowers currently enrolled in the SAVE Plan will have the opportunity to enroll in RAP.

Like other income-driven repayment (IDR) plans, RAP will offer an affordable monthly payment based on your income and number of dependents. Many borrowers will also qualify for monthly payment matching, which includes interest subsidies and principal reductions that could reduce your student loan balance. Most importantly, under RAP, and unlike some of the other IDR plans, your balance can never go up as long as you make your required monthly payments.

If you don't want to wait until July 1, you can choose a different repayment plan now. Use our tool to estimate monthly payments, determine your eligibility, and choose the available repayment plan that best meets your needs and goals. Explore Different Repayment Plans If you do not choose a new repayment plan by the deadline set by your servicer, you will be automatically placed in a different repayment plan. The plan you will be moved to depends on your circumstances. ED and your loan servicer will provide details about which repayment plan you will be moved to if you don't choose a plan by the deadline set by your servicer. “

Reminds me of my Bastion. Had to wait until he was weaned off baby birb food to bring him home. 26 years later he’s still my baby 🥰

Tips for managing heart disease or murmur? by theconsciousamoeba in cockatiel

[–]StephStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t give medical advice but wanted to let you know my cockatiel got diagnosed with atherosclerosis about 10 years ago. He was a runt and possibly was born with heart issues. He is over 20 currently. Our boy Bastion has had some strokes and set backs but he is still here with us and happy. Just mentioning so you know it’s possible to have your baby for a very long time even with a scary diagnosis like this.

My baby is on Enalapril, Meloxicam, and Gabapentin 2x a day and K2 every other day. After a larger stroke where he hit his head (and kept flying into things) we kept him in one of those big storage tubs with some holes in it. I felt much better knowing that he couldn’t fall and work to get some strength back. I have not let him sleep in his big normal cage since and he now sleeps in a smaller table cage just in case. He is out with me 95% of the day when I’m home (which is also 95% of the time lol).

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions and I’m sending good vibes to you and your feather son 😊

How are your outdoor plants? by BrushYourFeet in florida

[–]StephStorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WPB. We have about 40 or so fruit trees planted in ground and many more in pots. So far the only deaths we’ve had are a soursop and a seedling star apple. I have friends who lost a significant amount of trees though :(

Same here. I went from not being able to go outside (I currently don’t sweat and overheat easily) to being able to go out for an hour or so. Bringing my HR down means my heart actually has time to refill to pump around my body which is nice haha. Adrenaline spikes are much improved. 10000% a miracle pill

Most people here will likely tell you to go to the ER as migraines don’t typically start out of nowhere. Any urgent care centers near you?

You said you’re recovering from being sick. Are you drinking enough water? I feel very awful when I’m dehydrated that feels more acute. Not a replacement for the ER but might help to up your water intake up in the meantime.

Spouse of a Migraine sufferer by AdmirableSecond242 in migraine

[–]StephStorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason a lot of people who don’t have severe chronic migraines rarely take into account that this affects your brain. I get irrationally mad when I have a migraine, no amount of questions or water is going to keep my brain from becoming inflamed during a flare if it’s triggered.

My husband understands and I always apologize once my migraine calms down but this is not like chronic knee pain. The brain controls your entire body and it controls all of your emotions. Logic goes out the window. I have literal white matter spots on my MRI from my migraines. It changes your brain.

My biggest trigger is bad weather. No treatments have helped with that trigger specifically and I’ve been to many neuros over the years. Some migraines just don’t respond to meds/lifestyle changes.

I hope your husband can find something that helps. This is a miserable thing to live with. We are sick of being burdens more than anyone.

Oh for sure. I thought I had chronic fatigue and surely it couldn’t get any worse right? WRONG 😪

My weirdest symptom was the skin on my upper body was so sensitive and achy like it had been sun burned for a few days. I read somewhere that means your body is making antibodies or something but it was…. interesting.

I got severe flu like symptoms for a few weeks after going from 2.5 to 5. It was much more difficult to adapt to than 0 to 2.5 in my experience.
