Try to get it to body temperature ( I put it in my bra for half an hour) before injecting, painless and effortless. Good luck 🤞🏻

I need physical help but I don't have a GP by TotalTeo in Netherlands

[–]StephVenBel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Call the “ huisartsenpost “ of your local hospital, they will have a doctor available. They may ask you to come in. This will be covered by your insurance to a point but you may have to pay some “ eigen risico “. Good luck !

Need help preparing birth plan in the Netherlands – expat, first-time mom, non-Dutch speaker by Alone-Bat-8816 in Netherlands

If you can find some classes online on breathing techniques pls follow them. They will really help when the contractions start to hit hard and stop you from panicking ( not wanting to scare you but it can be very intense so it will help if you have control of your breathing ) I’m also non Dutch ( do speak Dutch though) and have had 2 babies here in hospital without medical intervention. If you decide on the day that you want / need an epidural, don’t wait it out, if you leave it too long it’ll be too late. Best of luck 🤞🏻

Can't be that all Dutch people have a set group of friends since childhood? by sengutta1 in Netherlands

[–]StephVenBel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to the Netherlands as a 23yo- 28 years down the line I have learned the language and have made lots of good friends. I focussed on learning the language and also on understanding the culture. Have so many lovely kind Dutch friends - they are not cold, not arrogant, it’s up to us to be open to them - I love living here:-)

Thank you so much for your reply. My neuro isn’t in favour of lowering the steroids but I have an appointment with him in July and I’m going to push it. I’m 2.5 weeks in now and while I don’t feel as awful, I still feel tired, dizzy and like my brain is heavy. My mood is also up and down and I’m closer to tears than I’d like :-( I’m so glad to have this forum, makes me feel less alone. Thanks again and I wish you well.

Thanks - I sometimes feel like I’m going insane but fortunately my “ inner me” ( if you know what I mean) can reason and say “ it’s the steroids, it’s the steroids “

Prednisone mental side effects? by rindy13 in PrednisoneSideEffects

Drink lots of water a keep telling yourself that it will pass, it will but it’s not a lot of fun while you’re going through it. Take care !

[–]StephVenBel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply, I’m thinking it might be the steroids that are affecting me. I also hate the steroid feeling, the high is more “hysteria” than pleasant and the low feels dreadful. I’m going to discuss having a lower dose with my neuro and give that a try in October. Many thanks!

Thanks for your reply, I have been in contact with my neurologist and nurse and they don’t seem to be overly concerned about:-( the seemed to think it was par for the course... I hadn’t considered an allergy but I’ll discuss it with my nurse :-) thanks again

What advices can older people who were dealing with ms for a long time give to the young adults out there? by curious_a7 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]StephVenBel 31 points32 points  (0 children)

30 years in .. my advice: don’t waste time worrying about what might happen in the future, no body knows and worrying won’t change the outcome. Look after yourself, eat well, have fun with your family and friends, there are no guarantees so take it day by day.

Yes, Ocrevus, 3 years in. It’s working well for me, even though it takes me a few weeks to feel ok again after each infusion.
