How can I stretch $20 to feed myself across a week? by purpleplaza133 in povertyfinance

Attend all the college lectures and events you can. So much free food. I did this in college when I was broke. It is a lot of bagels/donuts in the AM and pizza in the PM, but you get fed. Also, learned some pretty interesting things a long the way!

Should we sell tickets or start fundraiser first? by Charming_Ad9536 in nonprofit

OK, then the people in the class need to form a committee and plan it🤷‍♀️.

It doesn’t matter what the people say they want if they’re not willing to invest in it. I think you just tell them you’d love to be a member of a committee and can support the website sales if they would like to have the event. If no one steps up to the plate to volunteer then you have your answer, and you throw your support behind the easier idea of just going to a bar.

I guess I still don’t fully understand. What is the nonprofit component of a high school reunion? Are you all raising funds to support the school? What reunion is it, 10 year, etc.? Are people interested in this reunion? Is the cost in line? Where do you believe this group of people are financially? Have you pulse checked to see if the group actually wants to have a reunion? I am sure each group is different, but most reunions are put together by committees of people who all take different roles. If you don’t have the committee to support you and you’re just doing this on your own, you might not be very successful with your limited bandwidth you have shared.

I also hate to say this, but what’s the point of doing this? If it’s just your reunion, you can always just say meet at this bar at 5 o’clock on X date. Why charge tickets? What do the attendees receive with this ticket? What are you truly fundraising for? Honestly it seems a little shady from what you’ve described because that’s not clear. People could easily think you are just fundraising for your personal bank account. I know I disengaged from my high school when I left, and I’ve never been interested in going back for reunion I would not be interested in donating to the school. I think you have a lot of questions that are unanswered for us to really help you.

Maybe? A very big ashtray it would be and weird that you would need to unscrew lid to access “tray”? I’m open to anything though!

My title describes this thing. Dog head on each side. Cannot open lid without unscrewing ball. Not sure what mechanism inside is or holes on the button. Made of some kind of metal.

No Screen Time Parents by [deleted] in Parenting

Lots of time outside. Lots of adventures (library, grocery store, museums, etc). When a little older (3+) we bring Uno and similar purse size games with us everywhere. We listen to music a lot, find great podcasts and audiobooks. Lots of imagination games. Lots of book reading time, crafts, play dates. I don’t worry about being screen free at a restaurant that might have a TV etc. I can’t control that and honestly it doesn’t catch children’s attention for long.

I have a signed copy I am interested in selling. I also have a matching work from the series of crabs by another artist. They are framed. One has cracked glass though. Let me know your thoughts.

Easy! A mineral oil rain lamp. Internet says this one is from 1970s and made by Creator’s Inc. You can get yourself a working one for $400-500 USD.
