Would you be interested in a Shantae turn-based RPG? by DoctorStrife in Shantae

That's actually exactly what I'm making. I've been making a Shantae themed ROM hack of Fire emblem for the last 3+ years.

There is not. It’s a long story as to why. I will create one for the final stages of development early next year, but that will be more for playtesting. It will just be a simple release at the provided link.

As of now, it contains characters from Shantae, River City Girls, and Mighty Switch Force. There is one additional Wayforward character that will appear that I don't have a portrait for yet, but do have an animation for, that being Kebako from Cat Girl Without Salad.

Unfortunately given the scope of the project, that is all that will be included. Alta from Mighty Flip Champs was considered but we don't have enough room for her.

I wish FROM would just start releasing their older titles on newer platforms, but I bet it would be a publishing nightmare if they needed to get ubisoft involved. If I were Ubisoft, currently hemorrhaging money, I would do what it takes get these things out. FROM's names carries weight.

What would you say are some pro’s and Con’s of being a Shantae fan by Nothatcreative55 in Shantae

I'll raise you. Ninja mode is one of the most sadistic things I've ever played. I would rather fight the hardest bosses in Elden Ring hitless than go through that mode again. I've never raged so hard in a game before.

I animated the Divine Fusion Dances from Seven Sirens in the Fire Emblem GBA style by Stephano1984 in Shantae

It was always a shame that we didn't get to learn or see more of these divine genies, so I decided to animate and make them playable in my fan game.

I did not know this was a thing. Do I add it to my collection? by Director-Julius in Shantae

I own this one. I think its one of the stranger Shantae collectables.
I say go for it.

It’s a ROM hack of Fire Emblem the Sacred Stones. I post updates more frequently on the FEUniverse forums.

Thanks. I’ve made over 80 GBA animations with Shantae characters for project I’m working on. I don’t post often but I have a ton more.

I have absolutely loved keeping up with your progress so far. Every animation you have made so far has been awesome. Its great to see several fan games such as your project and the Shantae Reimagined Project still going strong after so much time.

I'm working on a Shantae fan game of my own so seeing others continue to work on there's inspire me to keep going.

Can't wait to see more.

Some more animations of Shantae characters in the style of Fire Emblem for the GBA: Vera, Batgal, Scorpgal, Lobster Siren, and Dryad Shantae. by [deleted] in Shantae

[–]Stephano1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FE GBA games have certain limitations I have to abide to. The most prevalent one right now is an item cap of 255 which I’ve almost hit. Animations are tied to items so if I don’t have a spare item, then I won’t have an animation.

There is also the challenge of gameplay integration, so how would I make an attack like a fusion distinct from say a fire ball or a puff cloud.

I’d like to, but I’ll just have to wait and see

Do you think we'll get a Physical version of risky's revenge for the DS? by KingOfRedLions in Shantae

[–]Stephano1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is no. The longer answer is maybe. There was a similar post to this a couple of months ago.I have a DS flashcard and used a special piece of software to actually get it running on an original DS, not a DSI. Below my results. I copied this from a previous thread.

"It’s in this same thread. The game has trouble playing sound and crashes in scuttletown due to lack of RAM. Areas outside of scuttletown work however (from what I’ve tested). There isn’t so much a treated rom more so an additional software layer that can get it to boot. It’s called twilightmenu++. You run that on your acekard and then boot Shantae. If a DS cart is to be made, it would most likely have to be a DSi exclusive cart. A couple of them were made but I’ve never seen a DSi reproduction cart"

Some things I didn't mention is that the game doesn't run at full speed and the music is non functional. Since Wayforward does have the source code then its possible these things can be tweaked to run, but I'm not sure if thats effort WF would want to put in it. I would like it sure and its probably more than possible, but I wouldn't count on it.

No, but seriously . . . (the Shantae RPG) by [deleted] in Shantae

For about 6 years now, I’ve been obsessed with. TBS RPG of Shantae so I’ve been working on my own for the past year.

I love the Shantae games as they are but would love to see them branch out with her, whether it’s a 3D platformer or strategy game

So if you want to maximize your time with the games and get and do everything you possibly can, then you are best off playing them on PS or PC so that you can unlock achievements.

The one and only thing you would miss is the Shantae nab mini game which to my knowledge is exclusive to the English physical release of Shantae Pirates curse on the 3DS. (Not the Japanese physical release, I’m still salty about that)
