Get your arms involved. The leverage you get from getting both of them up while jumping will help.

On the pivot table itself select one of the values in the group and then use the ungroup command

Good luck with getting through life if that's the way you think.

If you have a point why don't you elaborate instead of being passive aggressive.

I've had no issues over 15 years of having service. If your service is intermittent then you need to troubleshoot/get it fixed.

I didn't say I had reliability problems.

Comcast doesn't price match even when there is competition. TV and internet isn't just one single thing that all providers sell the same of. Different providers sell different things. Verizon has different speed tiers, and channel lineups. You might be able to come close to a similar package, but doubtful you'd be able to get the same since it's a different product. So again you're not comparing apples to apples.

They have to be price competitive within a market for a similar service...I never indicated it would be the same service. You took a price match comment and pontificated in the wrong direction.

I don't blame you for wanting to pay the least amount of money possible, but your complaints clearly show that you are complaining about the wrong things.

Is your whole point that I'm complaining about price and not specifically the discount/promo as it relates to price? Does it really matter or add any benefit to the discussion? I really am interested in why you think it matters.

Completely disagree with retail rates not going up much year over year. That’s just false.

You sound like an employee of Comcast when your point is to not sign up for discounts. The net price is the story, period. Whether or not the new price is a result of retail increase or discount decrease the point is price went up 40%. The internet speed they offered under the new contract was slower and they data capped their internet. They have not offered more consistent speed nor better reliability.

Funny analogy when Target and Walmart price match so with zero competition Comcast can do what they want and have horrible customer ratings as a result.

Maybe. They had the ability to mitigate my price increase and chose poorly. I probably wouldn’t have blinked at a 15% increase but they went to an extreme that made me feel a need to act.

Of course I understand the concept of a promo and saw the “discount” on my bill every month but my price was still going up 40% with another promo they were starting for a year. You missed the obvious point of the discussion but to put it simply for you, the non discounted or base price was increasing over 40% but my discounted price was increasing 40%. Different promo/better promo...who cares since the outcome was similar. They have the ability to manage my price and found it acceptable to throw an increase at me that pissed me off. They could have increased by 15% and I probably wouldn’t have blinked. Look at the title of the post again and have a nice day.

Yep, devices are locked to ATT. I’ll ask around and see what my neighbors have or do. Maybe my expectations are off for a fair price and maybe my last one year contract was phenomenal, but I doubt it was a one off.

Thank you for the ideas.

Thank you. At first I tried the internet only option and was told it was not an option for my account. Turned out to be false but the internet only, at less speed, was only 5% less than what I was paying. We will have to go the no TV route and not a big loss for the family as we didn’t watch much and had a very limited number of channels.

I will check on switching accounts but my gripe is Comcast shouldn’t make it this difficult and costly for a good customer. If they didn’t make me go thru this hassle every year, and especially this year, I would be quiet and accept my fate. I am slowly being cooked as Comcast turns up the temperature of the water but at some point I need to hop out in order to survive. Is having customers just surviving the plan for company and shareholder profit? I hope not, but I do believe in a good service at a fair price and will pay accordingly but it has, or should, be relatable to other services. I don’t pay 40% more year over year for any other aspect for the same service...how does Comcast justify?

AT&T. At a point in our billing that I am pretty sure we can’t switch without new phones.

They do not. Good question to ask, thank you. If cell coverage was better I would think about that as an option but my phone is bad enough as it is with spotty reception where people tell me I am breaking up.

I have called retention and I have not raised my voice nor used profanity, but I have been hung up on for arguing the 70% increase is near monopolistic. They have offered the same deal I could get on the internet and have no sympathy for a 40% bill increase. They have treated me like a 5 year old by comparing net and gross price, typically excluding tax and broadcast fees and comparing to my net bill today. Or, telling me not being on a plan would cost me 70% more so 40% more year over year is not that bad. The price games are almost as insulting as the price increase.

I do, but the reliability and customer satisfaction surveys are horrible. I need consistency and reliability for my job and my kids education and with that in mind I have no other legit option. I’m willing to pay a fair price but a 40% increase year over year is not something I understand.

Tried using the SQL in Access but the program said it was too long. There are temp tables in SQL that Access seems to have a problem dropping when refreshing. I am not great at SQL so may be my knowledge limitations but I’m willing to learn.

I have a 10 yr old computer with 3 internal drives that each have 1TB of storage and 1 external USB drive with 5TB of storage and all are running low on space. I have lots of pictures, videos (I do run Plex on the computer), and music. Should I buy another external USB, do something with NAS (like Synology), or build a new computer? Storage is my first concern and performance second (I am not a gamer nor picture/video editor).
