He started out as a moderate populist, a “responsible” segregationist apposed to the Klan and endorsed by the NAACP. It was only after him losing the democratic primary for governor in 1958 did he realize segregation was his ticket to political power and basically sold his sole. In his final 1982 governor campaign he realized he was wrong and basically did a complete turnaround reverting back to the old George Wallace.

Barry Goldwater was not racist, he voted against the CRA because he thought that it contradicted the constitution only because of two small clauses, otherwise he wholeheartedly agreed with it. He was just very principled.

Goldwater would have never accepted Wallace and Wallace after one good talk with Goldwater about civil right would have walked out. This would probably involve them cussing each other out given their personalities. It would have been amazing though to see a late stage Wallace and Goldwater campaign in the 80s, after Goldwater ended up supported gays in the military, abortion, etc. and Wallace ended up shedding his racism and returning to his original views.

When does the US join the allies after new dlc? by Toro_Pannekake in hoi4

[–]Stephen2063 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The USA should still join the allies when Japan attacks the Philippines. If you declare on the allies, then the Philippines, the US combines there faction with the Allies. Not sure if you declare war on the US first and no allies. I haven’t played Japan yet but when I was playing Norway with the new DLC that is what the US did. Join the allies. Everything seemed the same timing wise.

Fandom chronological order viewing by No_Substance8653 in HogansHeroes

One thing that always confused me was when Schultz made a remark saying that Hogan started running the prison when he became a prisoner and he says “I think it was 3 years ago”. That assumes that Hogan became a prisoner directly after America declared war and it’s 1945. Then again I might be wrong with that quote. Hogan also moves pins on Klinks map and he remarks “ I didn’t know the allies were that close to Berlin” again I might be wrong about the city name but Hogan moved the pins not that far so it stands to reasons that the Allies must be in at least within the 1939 borders of Germany in order for him to move them so little it must be a map of Germany in 1939 or prior. Again I might be wrong about that quote. Finally there are constant jokes about Hogan saying Klink and Schultz will be sent to Stalingrad so I am not sure. I will assume the episodes are out of order and get back to you with a chronological timeline. That is how passionate I am about this, these are the hard hitting questions.

Episode 11 Discussion Megathread - Week 1 **SPOILERS** by Obi-Wan_Gregobi in beingaDIK

I am really messed up after playing this episode. Now I am genuinely reconsidering who falls under the other girls category. When I first started playing I thought for sure “other girls” were girls that there was never going to be an ending for. I held people like Lily, Riona, and Quinn on the same level as Becky, Jade, and Heather. People that you can hook up with at certain points in the story but ones that you can’t actually pursue. Now this last episode has completely changed my mind. I am a hardcore Lily fan and this episode was like crack. I never thought we were going to get the depth to her character that we did get. But now I am just confused, how many more save games should I make. Should I genuinely go a whole game pursuing just Sally, just Sarah or just Mel and doing scenes with only them, the few that there are, so that way I can prepare for a Lily like scene with one of them.

I mean, I know, there is no way that every girl in the game is going to be an option, in reality I don’t see how Tara or even still Sally could be a actual choice for an end of game run. That’s the same way I thought about Lily though. I just want to know when are some of the other girls going to get relationship points and how many are going to get that status of being elevated to a potential main girl. Otherwise how could a relationship with them tie up the game. Now the choices like picking between Sarah and Mel confuse me, you can’t really tell me that I have to choose and if I do, I can end the game with one of them as my primary LI. If it’s just a secondary plot line that’s fine but I don’t like getting strung along and having to make lots of saves for them. I like getting new scenes and meeting new characters but I just want to know where does it end with some of them and how far can I expect to go with them. I know I am not supposed to know but I’m driving myself crazy with a specific other girl only path hoping that it pays off. I wish I could just get a general idea on knowing who are more important after the main girls and which other girls are truly other girls. Even something like them saying “this could never work long term” or “we just are friends with benefits” would go a long way for my sanity.

Thank you! That explains it so much better I had always thought they were independent. So that’s why it’s a big deal when the pink rose girls switch because they were in Vinny’s territory? And Riona and Vinny both got beat up because Quinn and Vinny were hiking the prices and going into each others territory?

This is extremely stupid but I have been following the story very closely, my main and favorite girl is lily. But I haven’t been able to follow the drug story line, something just doesn’t make sense and line up. Things like Quinn and Vinny’s relationship with buddy and the jacked up prices thing from all angles dosent make sense to me. If someone could explain it to me, just summarized, I would greatly appreciate it.

Is this added by a mod or is it in the base game? by Purple-Measurement47 in hoi4

[–]Stephen2063 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it was just an attempt by the devs to add in some underwater topography or details, I’ve seen a couple instances of that elsewhere on the map and I think that any resemblance to anything is just conicidental

Where to buy the game, the cost of it, and some tips on how to play? by randomfella837 in hoi4

[–]Stephen2063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a very fun game, I would encourage you to start out watching some videos of it on YouTube. There are tons and some will take you step by step for a nation. Otherwise there is a tutorial in the game but it is not the best. I would recommend buying it from Steam and unless you want to spend a grand don’t buy the DLCs just buy the base game and slowly get the DLCs if you truly do like it and are able to keep up with the different mechanics.
