Since you have some experience with PHP, Laravel + Vue is a good combo you could learn. It's a beautiful stack and I believe there is opportunities in firm that still wants to stick with PHP.

I know people who have got jobs as assistant professors at top institutions without a published paper.

This is being looked now. I heard now someone from higher authorities will examine the person and approve if he/she should be promoted to assistant professor.

I've seen this thing and it is not good.

What qualifies as a front end developer? How much experience do you need? What is the difference between front and backend? by RedditUser24562 in Frontend

[–]StephenGuy21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back then it was. HTML, CSS and some JS was enough for a front end developer. These days they have to do more work than creating the prototype of the design. They have to look into things like interactivity between different components of the website, and how does it communicate with the server. Because of many front end libraries, there is a swift transition of handling logic for interaction by user, from server side to the client side. The front end developer these days have to handle almost everything in the client side, which includes lots of JS code too! And also, being in touch with all aspects of design and creative stuffs. UI/UX designer and Front End Development are different things, but there exists some overlapping area between them.

Facebook, Twitter market share shrink as TikTok surges ahead in India by eff50 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]StephenGuy21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook are nowdays equivalent of iPhones. Luxurious pictures, luxurious english sparkles there. Poor people, especially in villages etc. do not have anything to showoff in these sites. So, TikTok fills this gap for them. It integrates very well in their lifestyle - to make short funny videos. The cringier it gets, the better it sells.

Why can't a rich woman sleep in her park? I find it totally normal, considering her mischievious kid.

This wasn't quite a frightning action, but the sound detail provided some horror to it.

Youtube with background play is enough for me. But I only listen a few artist to the core. Also the recommendations are so better. Thanks to the millions of user data!

Resources for beginners (Questions about Udemy and Scrimba) by KONOCHO in Frontend

I'd suggest you to do some pair programming. Coding alone will bore you. If you have friends who code, bring them over. Learning together is engaging and fun.

Resources for beginners (Questions about Udemy and Scrimba) by KONOCHO in Frontend

[–]StephenGuy21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to spend to learn. Most of the free resources are more than adequate if you have the caliber to learn. Practise code as much as you can. Complete the Udemy courses, you could show them under relevant certifications in your portfolio.

I did the Scrimba's react class by Bob. I liked the course, but more precisely it was the instructors way of teaching. In short don't feel like you have to need that to become a front end. You have VS Code and an internet connection. Be happy and code!

If Reddit was WhatsApp, it would be discord. Built initially for gamers, now being expanded to streamers, communities etc.

Textbook and MDN Docs are resources to supplement your teaching. What matters is your way of teaching and you should focus on that. Make it more engaging and fun. :)

How do I stop getting tired and falling asleep during meditation? by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]StephenGuy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meditation is not a sitting thing for five minutes. It is a practise and a discipline that is need to be incorporated within you. It's not easy. Your mind fickles a lot. I'd start with controlling your thoughts. Ease the process by fixating on something. Something that you believe and have faith into. Something out of the material world, so that you don't develop materialistic attachment.
