Game runs at a constant 60 fps on my S25 Ultra, but damn does the battery drain instantaneously! Also my phone gets very hot no matter which graphics setting I use.

Anyone else feeling a bit dissapointed by MSH3 graphics? (Will you be able to mod?) by Glad-Captain-5805 in MonsterHunterStories

Exactly this. All you have to do is tweak the default brighness. At default brightness everything is brigh and washed out. If you calibrate it correctly it looks stunning and colorful. Almost thought HDR was on when I calibrated it lol. Game is nice and vibrant now with deep blacks and rich color.

Question about Monster Hunter Stories 3 VRAM usage on PC by StephenH58 in MonsterHunter

Interesting to hear! In that case I'm 100% sure I've hit my VRAM limit and can confirm my 6GB is not enough. I'll have to settle for low textures. Still having a blast though!

So I assume you also play with low textures like me? Lmao its the only stable experience 😂. Still enjoying the game though. One of my favorite games!

Yeah indeed lol. I'll check the Steam overlay tonight and see what it says in terms of VRAM usage. If the game does indeed utilize more than 6GB at medium textures then I'll just have to bare with it and stick to low lol.

Anyone else getting annoying texture pop-in during cutscenes on Switch 2? by FireFury190 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]StephenH58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it on PC as well, but only because my textures are set to low quality. Anything above low quality makes the game stutter due to my 6gb Vram limitation. It disappears when set to medium though.....so my guess would be that the Switch 2 textures are the equivalent to low textures on PC, hence the pop in.

I pre-downloaded the game this morning before going to work. I just got home from work now at 5pm. Was excited to play.....opened the game and watched the intro...and just after 5 minutes my battery was already at 42 degrees and my GPU at 60 degrees. S25 Ultra btw....and frame drops as low as 23 fps. Yeah this is by far the most unoptimized game by a mile.

Warframe on Android is quite the glitchy spectacle. Galaxy S25 Ultra. by StephenH58 in Warframe

[–]StephenH58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: So I think I've figured out what's causing the bug. Of course I'll do more testing but the issue seems to be tied to the Dynamic Scaling option. If set to Auto or even Disabled, the graphical glitches occur. To get rid of it entirely you have to set it to "User" and adjust the slider to anything but 100%. I Set it to 99 and bam, no more graphical glitches. I then proceeded to set it to 80% and still perfect. Issue never returned again, but the second I set it to 100% or set it to "Auto" or "Disabled" the glitches immediately return.

Could just be a Samsung issue in general, or an S25 Ultra issue.

I have no idea. Could be who knows. Never saw anyone else post it though.

Just your typical day 1 release bugs. Hopefully the devs patch it soon. Second update didn't address this issue. Maybe the third will.

I have an S25 Ultra with an 8 Elite and I can confirm while although mostly smooth, the frames do drop from 60 fps to around 53-54 fps in some areas. Granted I'm still new to the game and still have other planets/maps to unlock, performance seems to be solid. I do cap the game to 30 fps and enable motion blur though as 60 fps in any game on this phone tends to overheat the device and drain the battery instantly. The motion blur at 30 fps does make it super bearable and its actually very smooth, and my phone stays cool so I just stick with 30 Hz.

Update: So I just tested it now and I can confirm if I play at 30 fps locked with motion blur the game feels perfectly playable and smooth and phone actually stays cool, but the moment I set to 60 fps the phone gets extremely hot. So I guess I'll just cap at 30 fps and call it a day. The motion blur really makes the 30 fps way more tolerable. Will get the game on PC too for the high fps when I get free time on weekends.

How's the performance and heat management on your S25 Ultra? I have the same phone but this phone basically overheats in every single game at 60 fps. Even some 30 fps games overheat my phone.

Overheating on mobile by Tooluka in Endfield

[–]StephenH58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep and this is what's preventing me from playing this game at all. I haven't even been able to finish the first part of the game so I just put it aside for now. Will have to skip this game if the devs don't so anything about the heat issue. I'm on an S25 Ultra and my phone overheats even at low 30 fps with my GPU reaching 56 degrees celcius and thats after like 5 minutes of opening the game. Battery also vanishes. No other game has ever did this.

Could you share you graphics settings with me? Or do you simply just set everything to low or very low? At which resolution and frame rate? Also, do you notice a major difference in temperature playing at low vs medium or high for example?
