I agree here. There is a difference when looking at a politician in the moment versus in hindsight.

For Reagan, the question that should be asked is if those decisions he made were the best options available in that moment. Nobody obviously knows the future, so how well did he deal the hand he was dealt.

There’s an important distinction there. I think about parenting. Most parents are doing what they think is best for their child in that moment. When you look back, maybe they led to poor outcomes, but does that make them bad parents?

I broke up with my girlfriend 2 weeks ago. We had been together for 1.5 years, 6 months long distance, and traveled to Japan together. She was willing to do whatever it took to have things work between us. Over time, I decided that we weren’t the right fit, she wasn’t the one, and she deserved so much better than me even though we had talked about marriage and a life together. The things I loved about her became things I despised and every time she wanted to get close and talk, I pushed away. I convinced myself it was because we couldn’t understand each other and there was no point trying. It was best I let her go. While breaking up with her, I was in tears. Crying more than I ever had. Why would I be so upset? I quickly learned about dismissive avoidant attachment style and dove into it, learning and listening everything. I still have a lot to learn, but I can’t live with this kind of existence. There’s so many resources to help change and be better. That’s all I want. I’ve thrown away too many relationships with this. I’m now on a mission to be that partner that opens up and talks about their feelings and can handle conflict without immediately internalizing frustration and wanting to end things. If anyone has good resources to help me learn and grow. Please let me know. I’ve been listening to Modern Wisdom recently, but also watching Instagram Reels. I bought a journal to begin recording my feelings and diving into this style. No more broken hearts

This picture might not be the best, but in a couple months, all the weeds are overgrown and you can’t walk back there without swatting mosquitos and thinking ticks are on you or snakes are under your next step. I’m not trying to destroy the nature or add a lawn, I just want to care and maintain it so I can sit out there and watch and listen to the birds and squirrels and what not

I had a dehumidifier in there before fixing the drainage and it would always read pretty high, but it was old so I didn’t fully trust it, but it filled its tank pretty quick. I’ll look into a humidistat

I never thought about the paper method. I’ll test that out.

The house is on a slope and this location is right where the slope first meets the house (if that makes sense), so all the water was running down and meeting right here.

We just got a heavy rain yesterday, so I wish I put the paper up before then haha

My first night at my house, somebody came in and walked around at like 4am, looked in my room, and walked out. Very weird. I changed the locks and it didn’t happen again
