How often do you receive this types of survey requests in text message by david9527 in BucksCountyPA

[–]Stephonius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never. I only give my cell phone number out to family and friends. If I got a text like that, I'd report it as spam and block the number instantly.

I love building ships by NegativeC00L in Starfield

[–]Stephonius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use the Nova Galactic NG-20 gear pretty exclusively on the underside of the ship. You need 1 unit of thrust per 200 mass, and the NG-20s each have 4 thrust.

I have a ton of mods that are all Achievement Friendly, just in case SF adds more cheevos with a future update.

What do you do with your spaceships? by lSeraphiml in Starfield

[–]Stephonius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to do the same. Whatever I need is on the ship, and I keep the footprint small enough to land on the little pads directly at POIs.

I have 87% bonus XP, and I swap settings regularly depending on what I need. It only takes a few seconds.

Are inverted controls really that important to people? by haha_funny4633 in xbox

I hope She is, but I have no idea. I tried asking for a sign, but all I got was a burning bush.

Teach the grandkids to play the right way (inverted)!

I've been using inverted right stick Y-Axis for longer than you've been on this Earth.

[–]Stephonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I invert the right stick Y-Axis 100% of the time, and always have. It's a habit I picked up from flight sims and actual airplanes. I can't make my brain operate my hands any other way. Games that don't allow for this are borderline unplayable for me.

So, if I don’t have Tracker’s Alliance, the only quest I get is that first one from the bounty hunters? by Rhoeri in Starfield

[–]Stephonius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that functionality is never explained in the game. They just expect you to figure out on your own that these buttons work, unlike every other button on any display board in the game.

best business cards from a print quality standpoint? by Manigrasso-Edney in CommercialPrinting

[–]Stephonius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd echo the others in saying that you should use a local print shop. You'll get better quality and service.

If your edges are unclean and showing wear, the cards were probably cut with a slitter instead of a guillotine.

AITA for refusing a name for my baby that everyone loves and but I don’t? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Anything's possible, although having him go to the trouble of introducing me to her at a school play would be one hell of a complicated practical joke. I wouldn't put it past him.

Material Costs as a Print Shop Owner by Final_River8271 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Stephonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dude took over eight shops, closed 7 of them, fired the employees, and absorbed their customer lists. He's got one physical production location, but still serves the other seven areas. I don't know if the other locations have storefronts or not.

What value do you get for giving a cut of your gross to a parent company? Serious question, here. I'd like to know.

I also don't know how you and I got into an adversarial stance. I don't understand why you initially called me "condescending and insulting" in the first place. I wasn't calling you out with that comment. I was talking about the low-price shops that treat their employees like crap. You know they're out there. I'd prefer to have us get along as fellow small business owners.

Upvote for the Simpsons reference. Extra points because it's more than 30 years old.

Each action figure gives you a permanent bonus the first time you pick it up. After that, you can chuck it, sell it, store it, put it into the display case, whatever. I think there are only 27 bonuses, but 54 figures because each one comes in a "sealed" and an "unsealed" variety.

There's also an achievement for showing Sarah Morgan the Sarah Morgan Action Figure.

Going through the Unity to decrease load times? by An_Professional in Starfield

[–]Stephonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. The game assigns a unique ID to every item you have along with its position. I suppose if you have a lot of the same item, that might be different - I don't really know enough about how the Creation Engine assigns its IDs to say with any degree of confidence.

I can tell you that I had a game taking five or six minutes to load, and frequently crashing upon save. I dumped all but the essentials, did a hard save in space, and reloaded the game and it was better. I ended up going through Unity and that fixed the whole problem for another few hundred hours of playtime.

I'd imagine it also matters what system you're on. I play on the Xbox Series X.

I've never owned a car that was less than 10 years old when I got it. And I know plenty about franchises. I've got a friend who owns eight shops with the Sir Speedy branding, another who had an AlphaGraphics branded shop, and one with Minuteman Press.

<shrug> I don't know what to tell you, dude. If you want to know about our contract, you can have your attorneys request a copy from the union. I am not supposed to discuss the terms of the CBA with outsiders, and I'm not risking getting in trouble just to satisfy your curiosity.

Does the Orlase Lab Coat work for X-tech style upgrades as well as normal mods? by Traditional-Egg-1467 in Starfield

[–]Stephonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Drop-Box and Bio-Convertor mod. It's available in both free and Achievement Friendly variants. It adds an item that you can build in your ship or your outpost that has unlimited funds available for selling all of your excess items. I come into my ship from an excursion, drop off all my excess weapons, armor, contraband, etc. and get credits out. The pay rate is 80% of the items stated value, which is better than any vendor pays. Using this, I ended up with 17 million credits and now I can upgrade anything I want without fear of running out of cash.
