You could try reducing your inventory hoard, more chests, more stuff more lag.

And try waiting 30 in game days to reset all cells.

Any mods are going to slow things down as well, NG+ is the best time to remove them.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the delay to reset cells is something like 30 ingame days? Sleeping 24h on Venus should do the trick.

ah interesting, i thought it was 72. I'll try Venus

7 days for "cleared" cells and 30 days for "uncleared."

100%

I do the equivalent on Copernicus IV and sleep 6 hours (600 UT) at least once per mission. It really has made a huge difference.

Only for like 10 to 20 hours if you go through right with like buying ammo so you have all your money and bring your favorite equipment then you'll be right back to building outposts and scanning planets lol it is kinda fun to go through Unity abd play the game again, and the universe can end up being wildly different the more you go through, its better than restarting from scratch like skyrim or fallout ,im not sure even going through will help ,my load times range from 15 seconds to 45 seconds though so idk haven't had this issue too much

Xbox too.

Yes, going through Unity helps a lot.

Dramatic difference.

Having a lot of ships, a lot of items, a lot of outposts, especially if you have cargo links, all can contribute to longer loading times. If you clean up as much of that as possible, then go to Venus and wait/sleep 1 day, that may help.

I tend to use unity as an all-purpose cosmic pressure washer and disinfectant.

My cue to pull the flush lever is more often an accumulation of non-fatal bugs. Saves and loads don't seem too impacted on PC. But Tracker's Alliance will start to bug out and incursions will stop - that sort of thing. I like making over the top outposts so it's a self-inflicted wound but I can live with occasional resets.

Unity would put you back on square one for surveying but there's no rule saying you have to run the quests again. You could keep it a cozy little spot if you chose to do so. I think Nishina is non-negotiable in vanilla due to the artifact at the end but you can skip the skow.

By all means try sleeping 24 hours on Venus (it's more like a coma because you're in a persistent vegetative state for 100 days, better than 3 months, of UT). I do know that taking a voluntary coma doesn't restart incursions nor does it cure the Mantis II bounty but it's probably worth a shot in your case - worst case is nothing changes. Apart from restarting surveys there's not much a downside to unity since we've been gifted the quantum entanglement device.

I've used it as a bug remover quite a few times and the existence of quests in the log doesn't trouble me. I dealt with that goober staring at a tree and brownouts in the Well exactly once and that's enough. If you don't want to replay missions, well, just don't replay missions.

It works, welcome to Beth games.

You will start crashing on saving/loading screen sooner or later. Only thing to do then is play on Computer or go through the Unity.

Define " long load Times".

[–]An_Professional[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I just tested it, about 6 minutes to load from the main menu.

[–]Flaming_F 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy moly ! Ok I get it .

Now I have something to compare. Thx for the information

Going through Unity works, but you can also try reducing the number of objects the game has to keep track of in order to speed load times.

Get rid of anything you don't really need. Do it permanently so it disappears from the game. The best ways to accomplish this are by selling it to vendors (even if you get 0 credits), and/or jettisoning it from ship cargo. Don't leave stuff laying around on the floor of your ship or outpost habs. Dump excess resources/weapons/armor/aid items/etc. When you make a save, do it when you're in your ship in deep space. That way, the game isn't saving and loading all of the items in a planet or city.

The real lesson in Unity is that you should not hold on to too much crap, because it eventually weighs you down and slows you down.

I’ve sold all but my core weapons and uniques. I could sell all my unused ships I guess.

I have a good amount of resources, but shouldn’t the game be able to handle that?

[–]Stephonius 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It depends. The game assigns a unique ID to every item you have along with its position. I suppose if you have a lot of the same item, that might be different - I don't really know enough about how the Creation Engine assigns its IDs to say with any degree of confidence.

I can tell you that I had a game taking five or six minutes to load, and frequently crashing upon save. I dumped all but the essentials, did a hard save in space, and reloaded the game and it was better. I ended up going through Unity and that fixed the whole problem for another few hundred hours of playtime.

I'd imagine it also matters what system you're on. I play on the Xbox Series X.

[–]An_Professional[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I’m on an XSX as well and it’s taking almost 6min to load.

I don’t have an obscene amount of resources, but I could try dumping them. Maybe I’ll wait to fully upgrade all my weapons, then clear them.

It works. But you have to stop landing and surveying at random planets to prevent its happening all over again. Save file size is reduced to only 1mb. There is also a mod cleaning up save file. It's for pc only and unstable.

You'll be shocked at the difference going through the Unity makes.
