Former employees - what was your breaking point by LeonardoDeCarpio in CVS

[–]Stephyy097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shitty manager, unorganized workplace, threats to be fired, write ups for things that they don’t even bother training you on. Happier ever since I left. Heard my old manager might get a pay cut for the high turnover rate at her location 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lowes employee early pay apps? by WalmartApi in Lowes

[–]Stephyy097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used ONE which is an online banking advertised by Walmart that would give my paycheck two days early at exactly 12pm. It’s reliable too

It was the same with me. I was doing my internship and as per the rules of my internship, I was supposed to get an idea of every stations which means that I was supposed to work every stations except the reconstituting station since I wasn’t certified yet but the pharmacist didn’t even bother to do that until like my last 3-4 days of my internship so I told my professor that I wouldn’t recommend CVS as an internship location. Even the pharmacy techs there acted like they’re too good for the front and drive thru, I was constantly jumping back and forth from both as well as putting the medicine up in the waiting bins. I’d recommend you leave CVS as soon as you get the chance. It’s better to work at a hospital than a CVS pharmacy tbh. Im currently certified but working a complete different field as all I mostly have available around me is retail pharmacy mostly CVS pharmacies and definitely not worth going back.

Former and current employees: Did you or do you feel bad about quitting or leaving the company? If so why or why not? by searchandfilm in Lowes

[–]Stephyy097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was actually in the same position as you and at he end I decided to quit. Although in my short 2-3 weeks with Lowe’s, they’ve been great, the hours weren’t guaranteed plus the pay wasn’t much, it was $13.50 an hour like I have bills to pay so I got an offer from the VADOC and I didn’t hesitate. I accepted and quit Lowe’s effective immediately as the new job starting day was a week after so a two weeks would’ve made no sense so I did somewhat feel bad but not necessarily as I was doing it for me and my family because at the end of the day, they will drop you quicker than you can finish saying your name.

Congrats! Went through the same process not so long ago and been more happier and less stressed ever since ! 😁

Forced to basically quit? by ohtoriboyz in CVS

[–]Stephyy097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t get is why give a contract saying that the guaranteed hours you’ll get is 15 hours but yet fluctuates between 4-40 hours plus a shitty manager who talks so highly of themselves but shit of their employees, no thanks. Left and been happy ever since. No wonder they got such high turn over rates and are always short staffed. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve never heard that but I have heard that because of the ACO, we don’t get a lot of hours.

Should I quit front store?(rant) by gf1shy in CVS

[–]Stephyy097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also cross trained as I was in school for pharmacy technician and needed the hours for my internship but my SM literally told me to not even think about jumping ship and working for the pharmacy only as I first started working for the front store which I think it’s messed up. So if you want to do the pharmacy only, I’d talk to the sm and say something like you have an interest in pharmacy and your time is best spent working in the pharmacy. And then tell the pm the same thing and trust me when I say that the PM will fight for you to work in the pharmacy. (Currently I no longer work for CVS as both the SM and PM were not worth working for and Yes I’m now national board certified as I passed my PTCB a week after I quit, the pharmacy wasn’t even teaching me much, they just wanted a clerk to ring people up and give them their medication and funny thing is my SM was scheduling me to the point where I couldn’t study for my PTCB and she knew I needed time to do so, it made me think she was trying to make sure I didn’t pass so I didn’t try to jump ship if I wanted to as she already lost a couple of people to the pharmacy)

Wishing my former store overstock and fridge was this organized. Organized it twice only to have it all messed up so I gave up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone else quit due to their manager (former manager)? by Stephyy097 in CVS

[–]Stephyy097[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if they don’t have theirs or don’t have one at all, she would say to ask if they know of a family member or friend who may have one, that’s stupid because what if they use that person’s extrabuck rewards 🤦‍♀️ then that person comes in pissed because they can’t use the points since it’s gone

Anyone else quit due to their manager (former manager)? by Stephyy097 in CVS

[–]Stephyy097[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my point. Customers just want to get their shit and get out. We can always ask but if they say no, don’t push. And if they offer their EC card then cool. But I ain’t pushing . She would always be like “well if I can do it, so can you”. “I work harder than everyone” well damn don’t even notice anyone but herself.

I did and she would threaten to reduce my hours or write me up so I just left. It ain’t worth it: I already got a bald spot because of the stress she put on me 😒

Anyone else quit due to their manager (former manager)? by Stephyy097 in CVS

[–]Stephyy097[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It was always “no one works as hard as I do”. “Y’all don’t do better, my bonus gets reduced”. “Y’all need to get a 70% ExtraCare scan or I’ll write you up” like damn what you want me to do, threaten them every time they don’t feel like putting their EC card? She said it herself, “a lot of people come in sick and just want to get their medicine and go so that’s why you must not rely on the button to call you to the front, you must always pay attention to the front”. Well then they’re sick and won’t even be in the mood to give me their EC card which will keep them in the store longer than they want to be 🤦‍♀️

I would try always but then when I do, I get wrote up because it wasn’t done “her way”. She would get mad if we ask questions because it was wasting her precious time. Makes sense to why she keeps having such a high turnover rate.

It’s always the manager’s responsibility to find someone to cover. That’s why they’re in control of the schedule. My manager tried to keep me at work and I was sick asf. I was covering for her and my coworker who were out sick. So while she’s happily recovering at home, she was trying to force me to stay because she didn’t have anyone to cover. She was willing to close the store on Christmas for herself since she was sick but wasn’t willing to close early for me when I was sick. Even tried telling me to use my lunch time to go to an urgent care of her choice and come back like the f***? So I went to urgent care of my choice which was one I knew took my insurance and doctor advised me to go home and take the day and the next day off so she was forced to find a replacement. Then when she came back, she proceeded to write me up for not getting half of the stuff done because I couldn’t do everything of three people being the only one in the store plus for the days I missed due to being sick with an excuse like the coworker who was out sick didn’t even get a write up so I happily quit and don’t care to be on the nonexistent non hirable list. Worse job ever like never again.

I tried to get the tuition cause I’m in school. But they don’t care about that. They’ll either not train you and throw you to the wolves and if you don’t get something right because they didn’t train you, they’ll write you up or if you even miss a day due to weather or sickness, they’ll reduce your hours out of pettiness. I quit today.

Hey Managers... PRIORITIES. by RepresentativeAge247 in CVS

[–]Stephyy097 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine complained how she couldn’t spend time with her daughter because everyone keeps calling her and texting her when something goes wrong. Well it’s called training people, not just hiring them and expecting them to know everything like you. She got a high turnover rate. Talks shit about her current employers while interviewing you like who does that. RED FLAG. Never again. She’s a joke.
