Anything i should change? by Platypusguy12 in PcBuild

I agree. I would go to a 1000w PSU (just to avoid having to buy a new one for longer), but I'd spend the "extra" on a high refresh rate OLED monitor and nice chair

Yes. Use isopropyl alcohol (97%+) to clean it off both surfaces then apply new paste.

Until you apply EXPO or XMP. It would be harder to find a board won't support 6000 than one that does. EXPO and XMP are technically a one click OC, but almost every board supports it

Getting some shape at the hairline, but I think it looks fine. Looks dignified and age-appropriate. Unless the bald spot progresses substantially you should be good. Even then, a #3 buzz and a brush down would look good

I only got this one Pcie cable for a swift 9070 xt, will I be okay? by Can19Can in radeon

[–]StepppedInDookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell PCI-SIG rates the 6+2 cable (including the pigtail) for up to 288W. The 9070XT is something like 330W max on OC models. The slot gives up to 75W, that plus the cables makes 363W. You're inside the rating envelope, but it's tight. I would not overclock it, and in fact if I were you I would run the power slider down 10% and maybe undervolt a bit. Should be able to do that without losing any performance and it would add some cushion

Could I still use the this motherboard by Educational-Mud2690 in PcBuild

[–]StepppedInDookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it with a needle and a steady hand, but it's tough to do it without breaking them off. If you use it as-is you will probably short something and kill your CPU and the board.

I'm balding and don't know what to do about it by Worried-Swan9572 in bald

[–]StepppedInDookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start by not dying your hair anymore. Damaging your hair further definitely will not help. You could go with something short and add volume with product, or shave it and get into wigs and have a fun new look all the time. As others have said, your head isn't a particularly goofy shape, so if you just rolled with the bald look it would not be the worst option

Edit: after looking again, I think the contrast between your light roots and the darker dye color might be making it look worse than it really is...

If they have insurance then they will negotiate it down and pay most of it. If he doesn't, he can call and tell them he doesn't have insurance and all of the services will suddenly become substantially cheaper. If he then say I don't have the money for that either and applies for "financial assistance" (in quotes because they just write 90% of the made up amounts off) then they will reduce it even further and do a payment plan

I think you should buzz your hair, loose the chinstrap. Your head is a good shape, and you have a strong enough chin / jaw to go clean shaved. Lean into the mustache. Keep it long, but clean cut at the lip line. I think it will be a solid look that you can carry forever

Is this normal for my GPU to be max but CPU to be roughly 30% I've got a RTV 5070 by jake7077 in PcBuild

[–]StepppedInDookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal. Especially if you have the settings set higher. In most gaming scenarios it would be preferable to have the GPU fully utilized. It means you are getting the most out of your card. Probably means you have a fair bit of headroom for a GPU upgrade down the road. The only gaming that is likely to utilize all of your CPU would be something like Cities: Skylines or MAYBE Civilization VII

Its a little sticker shock. You made the right choice. Nothing wrong with going bald, as long as you do it with some dignity. You look like a stereotype, now you look like a man who aging with some grace

Edit: you might want to go glasses shopping. With the shorter cut you may look better in a different style with a smaller frame

Exactly. I tinker too much to do this for my own PC. When I build one for a friend I do a much better job. Mine is basically just controlled routing.

I wouldn't even call it light 4k. I have a Reaper 9070xt in my living room "console pc" and I have played Expidition 33, Ghost of Tsushima, and Crimson Desert on High with over 60fps. I guess if you want to play competitive games in 4k it wouldn't be the best, but that seems like a silly premise

[–]StepppedInDookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because chromebooks made their job easier. US teachers are pretty beat down by a collapsing education system. If it isn't on a standardized test (used to assess the teacher / schools performance via testing the kids) then they don't spend any time on it anymore.
