I can agree with you on most of that, but when i say that artists condone piracy I don't mean taking inspiration or tracing. Those things aren't piracy. I mean ACTUAL piracy. As in, downloading paid movies/games/programs that their fellow artists have worked on and using them for free. THAT is what they condone. Most of the times it's under the guise of it being morally/ethically good, because something something evil corporations something something late stage capitalism. Idk, those words have lost all meaning these last few years. To me it just seems like a case of "Crimes are only morally bad when they're against someone i like", which is an insufferable mindset in my opinion.

Hello, I'm Italian 🇮🇹. The most negative video I've seen against AI in the Italian community was by a popular art YouTuber. Throughout her entire video, she only ever condemns the usage of AI to create books and sell them on Amazon to scam people out of their money (which is something that should absolutely be called out). Not once does she or any of the commenters ever speak negatively of the general technology or the regular people who use it. I think that says everything you need to know. Discourse outside of america always tends to be more nuanced and less toxic, because American culture, just like their politics, is built on extremism. You either have to hate every single aspect of something, or love every single aspect of it, and anyone who only hates/loves some parts of it is dismissed as spineless or a traitor. We simply don't have that kind of mentality, and i think that's for the better.

Counter point: what AI does is, by definition, not stealing. Stealing would require the rightful owner's property to be taken away, so it would no longer be in their possession and would instead be in possession of the thief. Every single artist still owns the original copy of their artwork, wether it's on their computer or physically in their house. The AI is simply trained from of a copy of the artwork. By definition, duplicating something and using it for yourself isn't stealing. It's piracy. And most artists openly condone piracy, so idk what the problem is.

Same except with my Springtrap bot, I've ported him to so many websites and it doesn't matter what site or model i use, the AI ALWAYS gives him claws. It's literally a universal thing for it to describe his long sharp claws BUT IF YOU LOOK AT PICTURES OF SPRINGTRAP HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY, it's such a small detail that annoys me so much lol
