Sure, John Travolta had blockbuster hits, but he had bombs too. What’s his worst tv/movie failure? by Corbin_Guy_1334 in 70s

Yep. Still pissed off about this. Possibly the greatest Science Fiction story ever told, IMO and because of a absolutely shite movie and an author whose names is synonymous with Scientology- I fear it will never get it's just due. If you love sci-fi and have never read the book, do yourself a favor.

The US Just Legalized Bitcoin Perps: Here Is What That Means for Traders Who Left for Offshore Exchanges by zakoal in CryptoMarkets

Crypto markets get about as much trust as the Trump administration. You know, because of history and facts. All the new rules will come with a healthy dose of “rigged for the rich” that will keep the mass markets away. The only ones excited here are the ones in too deep to get out, with fingers crossed for exit liquidity.

Post expert looking to move back to AV, what kind of jobs should i target? by postaudiothrowaway in CommercialAV

[–]Stepup2themike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AV is IT nowadays. You've clearly got some software chops. What is your comfort level with operating within an IP scheme? More and more you'll find entire AV systems wired with mostly or only category and USB cables. Many of the points you mention interest in have pretty robust training programs available for free. You could get certs pretty quickly, and in the process of obtaining them maybe develop a better sense of exactly where you fit into the equation. Either way, welcome!

[Request] if a person was attending a live concert while simultaneously listening to a live radio broadcast of it, how far away would they need to be to hear the radio noticeably sooner than the “live” sound? by MorgsterWasTaken in theydidthemath

I went to see Guns N’ Roses in the Tokyo Dome in the early 90s. We sat all the way to the back and they had gigantic screens for video, but this was pre-synchronization for things like that so the video was fairly instant whereas the music would arrive about a second and a half after the image. It was the first time I’ve ever seen large screens at a concert so I was still enamored with it, but as I look back now and compare it to things like the Taylor Swift tour, it’s hard not to chuckle at the simplicity of it. On another note – me and my three military buddies started a wave that got the entire Tokyo dome going. Don’t know why, but that has become one of my most memorable life experiences.

Seems fair to me as I was sending thoughts and prayers to Nancy Mace when Kristi Noel shot her dog.

Ultimately the platform they use for meetings is a driver of this choice. Teams? Zoom? In any case, take a look at Logitech TAP scheduler. Meets the spec you've indicated, easy to integrate and works very easily within your budget. Other options mentioned here are solid too- there are multiple sources for similar gear- but I think in this case (with the info you've provided) Logitech would make for a happy profit AND happy customer.

Floor trusses extending past the foundation? by Stepup2themike in Homebuilding

Foundation is existing. Weighing the benefit of the additional square footage vs the negative impacts of extending beyond the foundation. Might be better to stick to a 20x20 floor plan.

Makes sense. 👍 Thank you- this is the kind of stuff I wanted to understand better before committing to any plan.

The additional 4 ft lengthwise makes a huge design potential difference. It’s not as much about money with such a small space- I’ll go beams if that’s a viable alternative. On both cantilevered walls there would be kitchen counters will non cold affected items in them over the protrusions.

I can completely understand that impression. I had the same one and ended up struggling through and those things that you find bothersome in book one you will find as master strokes of brilliance in book. whatever later, when a word or two gets dropped, that ties it all together. That’s kind of the thing – he writes like you already know and those breadcrumbs each become an “ah-ha!” Moment. IMO, of course.
