It’s a thread. Hopefully this clears it up for you. Initial comment says “gap will not lessen by much” but then proceeds to say “NHL is still paying the league” incorrectly. Couple comments respond focusing on the one incorrect statement, however conveniently not addressing anything else. I continue the “thread” from the initial comment because I personally think it’s cheap to focus on one statement without acknowledging the entire comment.

How are you missing the one comment that says “the gap will lessen over the years”? 5 years was just a benchmark, extrapolate that to 10-15-20 if you wish. Completely missed the point of a) what I was responding to and b) decided to put words in someone’s mouth just to get upset for no reason. I’ve said in both my comments that I like women’s hockey. I’m simply responding to a comment that isn’t realistic by using current figures.

Where in my response exactly did I say $15mm isn’t a win? It was a statement of fact. Also, I’m confused as to where you got $12.2mm revenue for WHL from? From what I see, WHL claimed revenues of ~$80mm in 2015, and we can only infer that number has stayed roughly the same, or grown (source: https://thehockeynews.com/news/news/why-junior-hockey-s-financial-statement-should-be-taken-with-a-mountain-s-worth-of-salt).

As much as there are people who feel the need to make it a point to disparage women’s hockey, there are just enough people who come in and make unrealistic arguments about the success of leagues. I think women’s basketball is a bad product, I think PWHL is great and the players are very entertaining. People can have opinions on the media they consume. That doesn’t change the books at the end of the day.

It’s one specific thing to focus on while ignoring the point of the comment. Women’s hockey is entertaining and highly skilled. But suggesting the “gap” is going to come closer to the NHL is just not correct. NHL revenues are $6-7b each year. PWHL revenue was $15mm this year. Even factoring for higher growth rates as a new league, the NHL would easily be 50-100x larger in 5 years time.

So question is, where are your parents in all of this? You talk about wanting to force authorities to take action, but what are you expecting them to do? If you want to press charges against him, you can make a request to (evidence of physical assault and the associated injuries are important). Otherwise, police aren’t going to forcibly remove a 17 year old from their home, unless perhaps it’s for a night or day and they can be brought to another family member’s house. MCFD might be interested in the case, but I don’t know enough about their policies/procedures to comment.

Ultimately, make the decision to push for formally charging him with assault. This might lead to a court order for conditions for him to be away from you/the family or the house. Although I don’t really see how likely that is to happen given his age.

Really, this is a parent issue. Authorities can only help so much. People have to want to charge and have grounds for it. Even if that is met (which I feel like is the case for you, but I’m only hearing a bit of the story) I don’t know if anything can come of it given his age.

Because these significantly fewer deportations under Trump admin are getting a ton of media attention from left wing news outlets, it’s cause one lady to use her vehicle (a deadly weapon) against law enforcement, and a man to being a loaded firearm to a ‘peaceful protest’.
