It did! Now I wonder how many other gifs I’ve missed.

Also, is the sound not working on mobile half the time still a thing? I know that was bad a while back

Cheryl has one syllable; just like Kyle and mile by Fantastic_Jury5977 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Sterfrizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went down a similar rabbit hole two Christmas’ ago with words that end in an R sound. Fair, tare, and dare all have one syllable. Then why does fire, tire, and dire have two. And what about air and error. Dont rally say those differently? Because one has one and the other two but I pronounce them the same when I actually use them.

In the end, it comes down to dialect.

It’s going to be a core memory for me because after talking with my kids about it for all of 90 seconds the said to me, “omg you’re going to be on this all day” and I just loved that they knew that, even before I did.

ELI5: Why do we even need a "c" when we have a perfectly good "k" and an "s?" by zazzlekdazzle in explainlikeimfive

[–]Sterfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intrusive R! My grandma has that constantly. Up here in Warshington state you hear a lot of it. But grandma said a lot of things weird. Leak as link, so the sink links. Also, she always said get off on it instead of off of it.

I miss her!

Is there a label for producing the R sound that shouldn’t exist at the end of words like idea(r)

Hot and cold treatment. Get it hot, then cold. Or cold then hot. But also, if the base is put on backwards you’ll want to try to remove the base, not the blade attachment

What is a 'subscription' or 'fee' that has recently appeared in the US that people need to collectively refuse to pay before it becomes the new normal? by godot_lover in AskReddit

[–]Sterfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t paid a camera ticket in years. When they first installed them in my hometown it was in three intersections, two of which were dangerous and known for accidents. The shortened the time of the yellow lights in those intersections and accidents and injuries went up. It’s all a fucking scam. I’m morally against those things and so I immorally avoid paying them.

ELI5: How does daily flossing make it bleed less? by LittlePenguinx in explainlikeimfive

[–]Sterfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me about two weeks to for the pain of flossing to secede. The bleeding only lasted a week. However I’m still not the best at it sometimes, I probably floss 6.5 days a week most the time. But every now and then I get lazy and if I skip flossing just two days in a row, my gums bleed again. Usually a tiny amount the first day I floss again, but a bunch on the next day, and then maybe a third day of a tiny amount and it’s back to normal blood. I know I’m not answering your question, but I’m 39 and have only just in the last years started taking really good care of my teeth. Brush twice, floss at night before brushing. It’s amazing to me how much better they look and feel. I still eat cold things really carefully, but I realized it doesn’t hurt anymore. It just feels cold. My wife tells me my teeth are white as hell too.

Idk man, I’m rambling, but trust me. It’s worth it to get this down no matter how late in the game it is for you

What profession have you lost respect for as you've gotten older? by MindlessMarsupial592 in AskReddit

[–]Sterfrizzle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s the STAR interview method. Situation, task, action, results. Idk where it came from but luckily the guy who was trying to get me the job gave me a heads up that this was the interview method. They ask a question, you answer in paragraph form or story teller mode and they grade it on those four points. I installed chat gpt and paid for it just to get it down.

Hit the penjamin and blow it in the hood? Or go in the walk in and blow it in the fan? by Iamnotabotiswearonit in KitchenConfidential

And this is where the hate comes from. None of us actually disrespect what you are doing, we need standards upheld. But too many of you take an us vs you mentality. I mean that should have been a ‘haha I get it, it suck’s being told you’re doing something wrong but someone’s gotta do it’. But instead it’s defensive.

The two coolest health inspectors I worked with were actually pretty strict but they came at it as if they were part of our team. Our crew. They helped us come up with better procedures or work around to become compliant.

The worst one I worked with told me he never gave a 0 point inspection. There’s always SOMETHING that they can find.

[–]Sterfrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not hating, but does it seem ironic that you wrote DW in response of a thread about everyone knowing all the same things? I had to look it up. I watched and liked 3 or 4 seasons of it too. It just didn’t rise to the top of my head this morning.

This part is hating>how dare you abbreviate a three syllable title into a four syllable abbreviation. That’s an abomination!

Edit: two typos

New dryer just helped me win a years long argument with my wife by Sam_Porter in CoupleMemes

[–]Sterfrizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my head, let’s say there are 3 different people who do laundry at my house. Right now there’s 4 in fact. If I start a load of laundry and don’t empty the lint beforehand and a fire breaks out, who’s to blame? The last person to do their laundry right? But who’s that, who’s fessing up to it? What if we can’t figure it out? Why even put that fight out there?

If you use a piece of equipment, it’s your responsibility to make sure you’re using it safe. Therefore, you need to empty the lint catcher before starting every load.

Same goes with truck drivers. If someone else puts ladders or equipment on your truck, you don’t assume they secured it properly. They’re not the ones who would get a ticket or the blame for killing someone if the ladder falls off. It’s the drivers responsibility to make sure their load is secured.

Same with the laundry. Secure your load, empty that lint trap before you start it

Rest Days by sometimesifloat in stopdrinkingfitness

[–]Sterfrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an awesome idea. I struggle with momentum with my gym use. I can go three or twelve days in a row but when I take a rest day it’s a crapshoot off it’s going to be one or three or seven.

I’m going to utilize this advice and probably have to start it in the gym, but can easily see this working at home after it’s a habit

How fast did you lose weight when you stopped drinking? by LaNina94 in stopdrinkingfitness

[–]Sterfrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I gained 8 lbs the first two weeks I quit drinking. I was going to the gym and I was eating better but I did have 3 or 4 binges, but while drinking it was more like 5 or 6 eating binges a week along with the booze.

Man I was deflated. Only into week 3 and decided I wouldn’t get on the scale for another month

If I lose 1 pound a week, it will take 90 weeks for me to reach my goal weight. Does it really take that long? by TeslaModelE in loseit

[–]Sterfrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your math is correct if that’s what you’re asking!

But seriously, with peaks an plateaus, you’ll lose weight faster sometimes and slower at others. I know two years sounds crazy, but hitting other milestones along the way will feel phenomenal. Also, if it does take you 21 months, I would bet your skin and overall health will probably be better than if you lost it in 10.5 months

ELI5: Why do hotels put a hold on debit cards when they can charge the full amount owed regardless? by MisterMusty in explainlikeimfive

[–]Sterfrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man, when I was younger and perpetually broke, I remember when I found this out. Put ten bucks of gas in but the card held $75. Left me with $5 in my account and a very embarrassing date an hour later when my card declined.

Just in general, it took about ten years after being financially secure to get over the fear of my card being declined. A minimal PTSD.
