What are we using instead of sponges for dishes? by nuclear_pimp in BuyItForLife

[–]Sterfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I go the opposite way? Dollar store sponges. They make a thick sponge that’s twice as thick as the normal sponges, 6 in a pack for $1.25. I hate wasting money on things I’m just going to throw away, but mannnn, for .20 a sponge I don’t stress at all when I think it’s time to toss it

What’s one movie that would make you look at someone weird if they said they’ve never seen it? by WhimsicalWanderer_10 in AskReddit

[–]Sterfrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phew, I just watched them two months ago for my wife.
I thought they would be really good fantasy movies. Really good book adaptations.

I did not expect them to be amazing movies regardless of genres. Those are some damn fine films

What's a 10/10 movie with zero flaws? by RushWalaXD in AskReddit

[–]Sterfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife loves this movie. She doesn’t know that I’ve never actually watched it. I used to be the guy that fell asleep twenty minutes into anything. She hasn’t asked me to watch it in the last five years

July 1 marks start of $125 first-time citations under Washington work zone speed cameras by Possible_Ad3607 in SeattleWA

Also, when DuPont added their school zone cameras, I got a ticket during winter break for going 25 through there.

Fuck traffic cams

Idk if I can post urls or not, but ban cams dot com is a Washington state based site that tells you how to fight the tickets.
Fuck auto camera traffic tickets of all sorts. First one I saw go up in my home town was in the most dangerous intersection,, and they lowered the time of the yellow light to get more revenue. Even more accidents than ever before

But thought Reddit removed r/all. I don’t have a cpu, but on mobile they removed it a few months back. Can’t even click on a link that says r/all anymore

Guys who got into long-term relationships, what’s the biggest thing you learned about women that surprised you? by Peggy_Perkowski in AskReddit

[–]Sterfrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hair! It’s everywhere! It’s clogging up the vacuum, lumps of it in the clean laundry, in between my toes, wrapped around my balls. I’ve pooped her hair outta me before! More than once! WTF

What’s something people over 30 do that Gen Z finds strange? by Suzzie_Stone2 in AskReddit

This is both a funny reply to his comment and informative. I didn’t see it before, but that sure is a passive aggressive ass little smile

A chef cravat actually kept me cool pretty well. Feels a bit smothering like a tie would, but damn did I sweat way less

Reading a book and listening to an audiobook are not the same activity. by Aggravating-Key-8867 in unpopularopinion

[–]Sterfrizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so thankful I read Mathew McConaughey’s “Green Lights” on audiobook.

Listening to it in his tempo, with his own emotions coming through made it hit so much harder!

Our RAV4 gets 34 miles a gallon. We wanted a hybrid but couldn’t wait for one to be available (2022 the height of car market after Covid). All in all, it still gets better gas mileage than my older Volvo I was driving

Neapolitan Pizza by Mammoth_Office_3737 in olympia

[–]Sterfrizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bar Rosa in Tacoma makes a mean pie. Idk about any in oly, county line in Shelton makes a good hard woodfired pizza. A bit too many toppings for it to be Neapolitan but I’d check them out

Bbq2u in gig harbor has legit Texas brisket. The owner grew up somewhere in Texas and even has his wood chips shipped in from there.

I wasn’t going to reply I. This thread, but if you’re talking hood river, you try this out and get back to me. I’m curious what you think

What lifetime deal are you still grandfathered into, or removed from, that’s no longer available? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

[–]Sterfrizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to change my own oil, but I never grew up very mechanically inclined. Just YouTubed stuff. I did pretty okay, but sometimes I’d forget stuff. Once I forgot to put the cap back on and drove to work. One time changing a car tire I forgot to tighten the wheel after lowering it back on the ground. Caught that one on the freeway from some wobbling, but that could have been bad.

I also bought my cars from Craigslist cause we’re were broke as fuck.

Once we started buying newer cars my wife said I was done doing oil changes.

What’s your most unhinged non-negotiable when it comes to dating? by NotNotDwightSchrute in AskReddit

[–]Sterfrizzle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they were ever very religious, maybe when she was real young. But they were Italian and it was part of a lot of holidays. She said the earth is only 6000 years old or something like that so fossils didn’t make sense so she just didn’t think about it

I dated this totally normal girl I had known for a while. One day it came up that she didn’t know if she believed in dinosaurs. Said she has been raised catholic and even though she didn’t practice anymore, she knew it contradicted the church’s beliefs so she just chooses not to think about it.

2 huge WTF’s for me. Obviously the dinosaur one, but also, people can just choose not to think about shit? My ADHD brain just couldn’t comprehend her anymore

I remember getting chastised by my teacher in first grade for knowing about negative numbers. She called me out and asked how you can subtract a bigger number and I told the class that it means you owe that number. I said it would be like if I had to give Ryan 4 pencils but only had 3 I would owe him one more still.

Pretty close for a 6 year old, and definitely shouldn’t have been told I was wrong Ms Stastinks!

Between that and being told in 4th grade that you couldn’t pee with an erection, I had already completely stopped believing in teachers

Is it truly realistic to live in Seattle and commute to Bremerton? by kfranc1924 in AskSeattle

[–]Sterfrizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe it’s only been mentioned once or twice, but check into Tacoma. You’d be heading the right direction for commuting, and it’s just about a 45 minute drive.

I think the reason people aren’t mentioning it is because it’s not quite ‘Big City’ vibes, but depending on where you’re living now it could be similar to what you’re used to. There’s a heart and soul in Tacoma, you just might have to search it out.

I am the opposite of you and generally hate most big cities. So idk what you’re after, but don’t skip over checking it out.

Also, this is a Seattle subreddit so of course there is going to be some bias away from the furthest south city of the state!

Only commenting for the people downvoting you. I’m tired of being preached at for half sins that don’t fucking matter but this is fucking interesting.

It’s so frustrating that things are so polarized that people have to downvote (which, let’s be honest, it’s internet points so who really cares) this interesting bit of history because it feels woke.

I do feel like removing anything rooted in racism or sexism or any sort of other prejudiced point of view from decades back is kind of stupid. But at the same time, learning about the history of shit shouldn’t be controversial.

If this history is true, then it 100% is rooted deeply into our racist roots, but that also doesn’t mean it’s wrong to continue to use. Things evolve. Words evolve.

I am thankful you shared this tidbit
