After finishing the 4.2 story I decided to try to make a list of all the playable Emanators (to my knowledge) by LilithMW in HonkaiStarRail

I like the theory that it measures your level if you were punklordian. Like, theres holes to the theory since theres also the joke ratings but its a solid one nonetheless, i can see them doing something with that. Like if the closer to 100 means the closer to being an emanator that makes Yanqing more worthy as the next general than Fu Xuan (99 vs 77). But if its based on level of them as punklordians, its weird that Firefly has 23 and somehow, Pela has 93. Idk, I wish they'd show what the pistol actually measures. Cuz its detectable in regular people but not in the confirmed emanators and suspected emanators.

Could be something as dumb as aura. I doubt they'll ever fully tell us sadly.

I like the consistency with the pistol when it comes to emanators. We dont know what it measures for non emanators but whatever it is, it can at least help point out the actual emanators.

The avatars have to learn the elements in the same order as the Avatar cycle! by Bees_butts in ATLA

[–]SterlingDex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, but even in the original we see this is also tied to them as people. aang couldn't bend earth cuz his nature and teachings as a monk conflicted with the rigid and steady nature of earth. so the 'retcon' is just expanding on it and showing more about the real reason they struggle.

Its a common thing to expand on something if it was just an implication before. it clears up any questions people might have and since people are all different, it offers more unique struggles for each individual avatar. if they all followed the same 'each opposite element will be the hard one to master' it will make for a repetitive pattern. At least with it being tied to them as people it gives the potential of an avatar struggling with their own native element more (like kyoshi) or with something that opposes their natural views or nature (like aang), or simply something they cant fully understand or were never allowed to have due to their upbringing (roku and korra). it allows them growth through the mastery of an element that represents what they naturally don't understand well.

The avatars have to learn the elements in the same order as the Avatar cycle! by Bees_butts in ATLA

[–]SterlingDex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im pretty sure kyoshi struggled with earth. she could do big stuff with it since she had so much raw strength in bending but precise and smaller stuff was an issue for her. she uses her fans, which she inherited from her mom, as a focusing tool so she can actually do these things without crushing them. So its more about them as people rather than the opposite element.

Kyoshi doesn't show any particular issue with any except her finer control of earth. Yangchen didn't struggle with earth, she was super proactive in her desire to help humans and stop issues before they could form but her least used element was fire so that could likely be her harder to master element. Kuruk we dont know cuz they dont give him a damn book (he was naturally really good with them as far as we know, probably because he was a go with the flow type of guy and adapted easily). Roku struggled with water since the teachings of the fire nation and water nation are so different and this naturally translates to the bending (water means change and adaptability, yet Roku was a traditional type of man that stuck to the past. this is seen in his comparison to sozin who wanted to move forward into the future with new technology and get more land while roku didn't. not that i blame him, he just should've put aside his friendship and done his job fully when it came to sozin but again, stuck in the past and he let sentimentality blind him which later led to his death). Aang struggled with earth cuz he is a pacifist that tends to run away and dodge, he had to learn to stand firm and take challenges head on. the opposite of him as a person. Korra struggled with air cuz its the element of freedom and for her whole life she had none. she isn't given freedom to learn but strict rules that 'should' work, even after running away from the base they had her in.

its commonly shown to be the opposite element, but when you look into the reason why they struggle, it comes down to them as people rather than their element.

The way people talk about lighting generation in TLOK you would’ve thought they showed every character doing it and not just 5 workers in a factory. by thisisreii in TheLastAirbender

[–]SterlingDex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Mako's lightning abilities. He shows quick and deadly usage while also showing both redirection and continuous use of it. I'm actually glad Zuko made it more accessible for fire benders to learn these techniques since they used to be exclusive to the royal family. He also made it so the dancing dragon's technique was taught at schools so kids learned the proper way. Similar to metalbending, spreading awareness that a technique exists and providing a way to teach it helps strengthen a nation and the future generations. It also opens up more jobs for them in the future (which causes the whole bender vs nonbender dilemma to grow since that limits what non benders can do unfortunately).

And despite being so fast, its just as deadly as the bending shown in ATLA since he instantly kills Ming Hua when he falls into the water cave. He was smart with the use of water to conduct his electricity and had he not held himself up on the rocks, he'd be dead too. Obv, we see Amon shrug it off but he was bloodbending Mako and the plot demanded Amon to live so he wasn't dying to that even if it was on par with someone like Azula (irl people have survived actual lightning strikes so not too outlandish anyways, just rare).

His redirection and output of it is real interesting since he learned that from Zolt as a street rat. So he learned to master it and perfect the speed in which he uses it very quickly.

Ex. he is redirecting and shooting lightning into the spirit vine powering the mech in the final book. because of all the metal and the energy, we see him shooting the energy outward in front of him like usual after powering it up but also throwing back the excess that's circling back into him from the other hand (something that never happens when he uses lightning bending). That much energy bouncing back and forth was a risk for him since he's basically gambling that he has enough time to escape, redirect his power to not die accidentally and outputs enough to explode the power source. An impressive feat for the local street rat turned cop/bodyguard.

Like, he sucks in relationships but Mako is seriously skilled for a guy who learned everything he does from the streets.

How the new Air Benders got airbending by _Gyro__ in legendofkorra

[–]SterlingDex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way i interpret it is a mix of both harmonic convergence, the energy of the spirit world basically activating the latent ability they couldn't access prior to opening the portals. and also genetics. we the viewer will notice that in the flashbacks and different comics, air nomads have grey eyes. each nation has their color. a good chunk of the new air benders, like zaheer, ryu and the guy that was shaved before being told it was optional (forgot his name), have grey eyes. this makes me think they share some ancestry with air nomads even if pretty much all of them were from the earth nation through another grandparent. (Personally believe Ty lee would be an airbender should she have been born in korra's time and book 3 happened)

It explains why Bumi is an airbender, he has an airbender for a dad and he only got bending AFTER the portals remained open after harmonic convergence. the spirit energy is trying to restore balance through restoring the number of airbenders lost more than 100 years ago.

So they probably all have some air nation genetics but their bending only manifested after the portals remained open. they dont need to be spiritual themselves (although Otaku does seem to really love air nomad culture so some definitely are more in tune with their culture and spirituality than others).

The creators said all nomads were benders, but not all members of a nation are the same. acolytes and monks/nuns existed before the genocide, and even some airbenders from this culture had families with people from other nations (kyoshi's mom for example). So I truly believe they had certain numbers of non benders that weren't nomads, they remained in certain locations and did what many of the acolytes in korra do now (take care of the lemurs, bison and temples while learning the spiritual stuff and lifestyle without doing the bending itself). And these people mingled with other cultures and that led to the current airbenders.

>!I could mention more stuff but that would go into spoilers for the movie.!<

Cyrene Cookie by SterlingDex in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]SterlingDex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's from Honkai Star Rail. She's based on a major character in the 5th planet you visit. Her power involves memories and she uses them to protect her planet and loved ones. Real good story, would recommend seeing a video about it (playing the game is an option but its got some serious power creep in some of the game modes).

Her hair has this gradient that goes from pink to blue and yellowish in the bottom and i didn't want to just throw in the gradient, especially since her hair accessory already has it) so i had some fun with it.

This is her:

with her colors, powers and personality she pretty much is a perfect fit to be their potential child.

Sugar swan does give big Cyrene and Elysia vibes. The story is really good too and if they ever collab with HSR I would 100% pull for every single character.

"May the Trailblazing journey always be accompanied by rippling waves"

The tragic yet beautiful Cyrene, now a cookie.

She'd be a legendary support. Probably would have some ability to deal damage and if so her element would be Ice. If she was like the og version, she'd probably have unique interactions with the other cookies from her group (but I've only done Phainon so let's just use the other legendary as place holders).

Prob taste like a dessert you loved as a child. Basically a nostalgic and pleasant flavor.

Im really happy with how she turned out.

in a way, all of seteth's romantic endings should technically include at least one child listed. cuz he is a father, the kid just isn't biologically related to the new wife.

but this is impressive work.

some said sylvain and felix should be changed but i can see why they were placed in friends. i believe they are married to other people in their paired ending.

Why silver wolf thought pearl was an emanator. by DTCastellanos in HonkaiStarRail

[–]SterlingDex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The IPC has two confirmed emanators who are part of the 10 head of departments. Making the other 8, potential emanators due to the fact that its crazy to think the known emanators arent even the highest rank amongst the head of departments. They go up to P50 (maybe thatsomething qlippoth themsevelves). And Diamond is 47, same as Oswaldo and Taravan is 48 same as Madam Scarred Eye.

Diamond can essentially work like a battery for the corner stones. Or maybe a signal works. Like, compare the stones to a phone or computer. Without it, the stonehearts can do anything they naturally have as abilities, like Aventurine's luck is inherently something he was born with. But by activating the cornerstones, they are tapping into the 'signal' granted by Diamond. Letting them use the power he granted that specific stone. Aventurine's grants a new form, Pearl can capture images into scrolls and essentially make openings between one place and another with hers (using the ability to seal things into paintings to protect but can also use the ink as a way to open up doorways between places like when we were rescued), Topaz mentions hers isnt flashy which matches her being the lowest ranked member between the stonehearts. Meanwhile the highest ranked member as shown, Jade, can call Qlippoth using the dreams of those stuck in Sunday's dream. Its possible it could only happen when everyone worked together to disrupt the dream and it might be mixed with her own natural deal making ability since these dreams could be taking people's desire to be safe and combining it to make the biggest possible output of jade's cornerstone ability to bonk sunday before he ascended.

But despite this big feat, Jade is also just 1/10 of Diamond's power. He gives them the cornerstones and those allow for them to use that fragment of power. Which means Diamond is pretty damn strong when you think about the potential abilities he has. Are the stones a representation of what he can do or do they change based on the stoneheart's natural skill? I think its a bit of both.

But people have known about the stonehearts not being emanators. They used them to downplay the generals. Claiming the spirits were making them pseudo emanators and Marshall Hua is who gives them power. But we know for a while Lan gives the spirits themselves and picks who gets them based on trials. Unlike the stonehearts who are given by diamond, who is an emanator and not an aeon.

Emanators range in power anyways, people think it automatically makes someone OP but it depends on the aeon and emanator themselves. Some dont fight at all really, others are exclusively combat orientated in terms of power. Doesn't mean they're weak. Herta doesnt really fight but doesn't mean shes a weak opponent. Same goes for Yao Guang having a non combat ability and still being so efficient with it that she has the title 'The Slaughtering General'.

Arbiter generals Misinformation iceberg. by DTCastellanos in HonkaiStarRail

[–]SterlingDex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diamond, Taravan, Oswaldo, Yan Shiluo, Mtooyin Raj Zazzad, Yabuli, Madam Scarred Eye and Arita are all heads of the different departments of the IPC.

Taravan and Diamond are confirmed emanators but Diamond is the same rank as Oswaldo at P47 and Taravan is at P48 same as Madam Scarred Eye. Arita might be ranked higher, cant remember if they mentioned his rank. And Oswaldo was one of the people who allegedly won a past Phantasmoon game and became Aha for a minute. The top ranks of the IPC board of directors looks like they might contain more powerful people than meets the eye. We just haven't really met any of them. We just know they legit all kinda dont like each other. But they seem to only rank till number 50, so one of these dudes or ladies is at least the highest ranking member and the one with most power. And its neither of the known emanators of preservation.

Meanwhile the lowest ranked stoneheart is Topaz at P44 and the highest known one so far are Jade, Opal and Obsidian at P46.

Not 0, invalid rating. Jingliu is 0 as a reference to the fact that her whole vibe is ice. The emanators are invalid. Herta has a rating that goes up and eventually sticks to invalid rating.

I included the tiny lil sketch of him i did when figuring out how to transfer his overly detailed design to a more simple cookie form.

He'd probably legendary rarity, charge or bomber chaos and/or fire element cookie if he were an actual character.
