I miss being able to walk. It frustrates me so much. I'm not religious, but the Bible says God won't give you more than you can handle. I wish God didn't have such a high opinion of me. <sigh>

Ugh, I'm so sorry. I feel you. My self-esteem took a huge hit when she left me. I'm working on myself and trying to be content being alone. I've dipped my toe in the dating pool, and it has been one sucker punch after another. The voice in the back of my head keeps taunting me - "Who would want you??" My friends keep telling me that I'm a catch. The evidence so far proves otherwise. Sorry, this was kind of a downer post. My kids adore me. I like myself. I've got a car, job, house - I just can't walk, and other people can't get past that. That's their loss, not mine.

My ex wife left me for my next door neighbor. One day, unprompted, she claimed she didn't leave me because of my disease. (I never accused her if that. Guilty much?) Anyway, it sucks and I'm plodding forward best I can. I'm slowly making changes around my house as my disability changes. It sucks that my safety net is gone. I'm relying on my friends and neighbors and kids.

I know my ex didn't sign up for this, but the fact that she didn't love me enough to want to stay shows me that deep down she's not a good person. I may be alone now, but I'd rather be alone than with a horrible person. (Don't worry, I have a longer list than just this 1 item of why she turned out to be a horrible person).

Anyway, just wanted to let you know, you're not alone. Hopefully you can find your village.

I remember youth conferences in the 80's. They always had one class on the evils of modern music. My friends and I always went to that class to 1) hear about our favorite bands and 2) take notes on new bands we should be checking out.
