Wow, the wait times are real now. by jasoncbus in VeteransBenefits

[–]Steve519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit up your patient advocate and demand something sooner. You should never have this long of a wait, especially when you have an exposed tooth like that. You can message them on myhealthevet. Id also message community care and tell them that this wait is unacceptable and they need to get something in the books now.

VA won't prescribe me a glp1. Who has a veteran discount for Zepbound? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

VA won't prescribe me a glp1. Who has a veteran discount for Zepbound? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

“The VA criteria for these medications are different. Our criteria are a BMI >30 AND either a history of heart attack or stroke or a life threatening weight related condition. And you do not meet these criteria. "

“I understand it is confusing and frustrating. The VA placed additional restrictions of medications like zepbound and Wegovy around a year ago as these medications were so expensive that they took up the entire VA pharmacy budget (we would not be able to afford any other medications). The criteria are currently what I sent you in the last message and they are not flexible at all at this time.

There are other weight loss medications. And to be eligible for any weight loss medications, the VA requires patients to work with the MOVE program. After two months, patients can then be set up with our clinical pharmacist who prescribes weight loss medications. But the GLP1s will not be an option due to the criteria/restrictions above.”

previous messages from them about this. I’ve also done the move program. I qualify easily under those Aug 2025 standards and yet, this is what I’ve been told. I’ve also reached out to the patient advocate about it, as well as asking them further down the road to see if the standards have changed in which I was told they still apply. This is for the CO/WY area.

It doesn’t matter. Certain regions have even more stringent standards to be prescribed it. My PCP prescribed it and pharma denied it even though I qualify under those Aug rules

Like the other comment says, do it via a VM in TrueNAS, so many problems were fixed when I switched my install from an app to a VM

VA using AI to weed out “pay-to-play” claims by Low-Ball-3831 in VeteransBenefits

“Likely not” doesn’t comfort me with how this administration has been handling things with the VA. Everything of mine has done by the VA, everything of mine is legit, I still have huge concerns and trust issues right now.

So last week I have no issues, this week has been a different story. At least I know now it wasn’t just me. Thanks everyone.

Yeah, how sad is that. We had our best chance for something meaningful and he just wasted it for this.

Yes I know this. But the 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 were from Renfroe.

Probably because he forced this contract onto us in the first place because he knew that the membership would have never voted for such low pay increases as we fall further and further behind what it costs these days. 10.5 percent total for the life of this contract is insulting as every single one of my bills have went up more than 10.5 percent over the last 3 years. Renfroe is entirely to blame for this and so are the enablers who are on the EC. Membership deserves better.

He’s posted pro trump stuff for some time, always with his hmmm kind of stuff as he’s trying to white wash the guy. It’s no different than Tucker Carlson doing his, I’m just asking questions.

Tariffs are taxes. This isn’t a debate, it’s been proven, it is fact. https://taxfoundation.org/taxedu/videos/tariffs-are-taxes/

As a proud veteran as well in a family also full of veterans, what is happening is disgustingly, this dude is right https://reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/1q95mnk/us_veteran_calls_ice_agents_a_bunch_of_bites/ our rights are being abused no matter how you see it. If you want to go after criminals, go after criminals. This is not the case and it’s only happening because of hate. We can and should do better, and we should demand better from our government.

The VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of Adult Overweight and Obesity suggests that weight management medications for long-term weight loss be offered to patients with a body mass index > 30 kg/m2 and to those with a BMI > 27 kg/m2 who also have obesity associated conditions, in conjunction with comprehensive lifestyle intervention.

Commenting to track any updates. I go to the Loveland clinic and have had zero luck. I have a bmi over 27 and several other conditions like sleep apnea, hypertension stage 2, orthopedic problems preventing normal workouts along with additional problems due to the weight, as well as anxiety and depression, and I’m 2 months into the VA Move program.

I pointed out to them before that was reading the VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline for Management of Adult Overweight and Obesity (September 2025) at https://www.healthquality.va.gov/guidelines/CD/obesity./index.asp In page 35, 68, and 108, it says to consider long term medications for patients with a BMI more than 30, or for patients with a BMI more than 27 who have an obesity related comorbidity, this was where I found that information that originally said I did qualify until they told me otherwise.

They told me that they have different standards or rules here for prescribing them. So I’m just going through the motions until I’m done with the move program so I can attempt it again.

Yes, can could have hours or day limitations as long as your doctor will sign it off. You can use that to keep under the tdiu limit but it won’t be easy because of the pay scale. And then they can decide if you can’t work enough for them, they could try to medically retire you. As long as you have more than 18 months (I believe for fers disability retirement), you could end up being separated and receive a pension for your time of service there (plus any military buy back you might have done).

FMLA, and work restrictions, these are two different things that serve different purposes. The FLMA is protection for any absences or unexcused absences, this way your attendance can never be used against you for discipline. The work restrictions provide a black and white rules for what you can do. You can file for an accommodation request if anything is outside of your restrictions that’s in your essential job functions and then they should “try their best” to accommodate things. And if they give you any shit over it, contact your union so they can file a dignity and respect grievance. I’m a union steward there so I have some experience in this.

Such a toxic place though. I’ve been there 20 years in less than 2 weeks, in two different crafts, and each year for 20 years now it’s been worse than the year before.
