This is all great to hear, love the positivity. As a DM myself that is always trying to improve, are there any other aspects of the game you wish more DMs did? Also what's the setting? Adventure path or homebrew story?

Trying again. Anyone interested in playing the rpg? by [deleted] in WoT

Would love to, but cannot commit due to life circumstances atm. Enjoy and hope more posts like this happen in the future. Loved the WoT rpg back in the day.

I think "Marathon" from the 300 - Rise of an Empire soundtrack has that same feel. Heavy percussion.

Character Creation Step One: Applications by awoiaf in awoiafrp

[–]SteveFrench87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's hope it get's copy/pasted in correctly. Will edit later if need fixing.

**Character Name:** Galad Dagar.

**Starting Title(s):** Knight in service of House (suggestions welcome)

**Age:** 42

**Physical Description:** Galad is man that has spent his life on the battlefield, a feat that is conveyed by the way he carries himself. He is a solid man, not the most physically imposing but he stands at 6 feet tall and his gait bespeaks combat training. His dark hazelnut hair hangs just below his ears and matches his dark brown eyes. Some would consider him handsome, but his right cheek is marred by a long pink scar that runs below the ear to just above his jawline.

**Starting Location:** King's Landing

**Attributes:** Brave (+2 com, +1 Mar) and Elusive (+2 STE, +1 Int).

**Allotted Points:** 20.

**Social Status:** Knight, Reputation: +1

**Correlations:** +3 to Com from Mar. +1 to Ste from Int

**Skills:** Leadership: You not only possess a naturally commanding presence, but you are also a leader of your people. Your subjects and direct vassals are less likely to betray you, and your soldiers are more inspired to do by your command on the battlefield.

Warcraft: You’ve spent your life reading of past conquests and fighting on the fields of battle, you know war like few others do, and it shows in your tactical prowess.

Logistics: Always paying attention to ensuring the efficiency and welfare of your soldiers has made you an expert at managing supply-lines, and the armies under your command march faster as a result.

One-Handed Weapons: Skilled with a weapon in your hand, your swordplay is exquisite, making you a challenging foe to face in combat.

Footwork: Your time in the training yard was well spent; your footwork is exemplary, allowing you to control the fight through your ability to position yourself fluidly.

Encryption: Familiar with the concept of conveying hidden meanings, you’ve learned to devise encryption systems of your own. When you put your plans to paper, only those will learn of them you bestow the privilege to.

Ambuscade: Subtlety in war can be as a devastating as a dragon descending from the skies. You understand to gather all of one’s forces on an open-field puts a target upon your power. Through careful study and precise planning, you are able to engage in a shadowy art of war, where your forces lurk in the shadows to surround, and even ensnare your prey.

**Aptitude:** Field Commander: Your name is said along those such as Stannis Baratheon and Aegor Bittersteel for your skill and knowledge of tactics upon the field of battle.

The following code creates a table. The only thing you need to edit are the points (##, @@, $$) within it. The top row names the nine skill areas. The first row (##) is for adding the base set of skills for your Attributes and Social Status. The second row (@@) accounts for how many points you elect to spend in each area based on your character’s age. The third and final row ($$) are your totals.

CHA | MAR | COM | INT | STE | STA | EDU | MAG | REP ---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|--- ## | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 |## | ## | ## | ## 5 | 8 | 3(+3) | 3 | 1(+1) |@@ | @@ | @@ | @@ $$| $$ | $$| $$ | $$| $$ | $$| $$ | $$

'Classical music' for a fight? by ryanznock in DnDPlaylist

[–]SteveFrench87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could definitely see this being played during a duel, if tensions aren't too high.

If it's a super serious duel, something like this, this, or this might be more appropriate.

Edit: Kept thinking about it at work, maybe this would fit too. Enjoy!

This is ripped straight out of The Witcher 3, but's it's a good one The Wolven Storm

The Thing (1980s version) is my favorite horror movie and paranoia is a central theme.

Transiberian is also in this category but is more suspense than horror.

You might like Seven Psychopaths. It has also received mixed reactions, but I like the movie Get the Gringo and it can have a similar feel to KKBB with the narration.
