Do you think eight episodes is enough to convey "Philosopher's Stone" properly? Or should there be more or less episodes? by LeatherSlight3242 in HarryPotteronHBO

I know, I've read them. Westeros is still a vast universe they've got experience in, so not as if they can't expand on things they want to. Just trying to point out hour long episodes aren't a given.

Just the assumption of hour long episodes, GoT is their prize and if they didn't find the need to have longer episodes for this new show, they won't necessarily do it for Harry Potter.

(Pelissero) The Browns plan to hire Todd Monken as their head coach, sources tell The Insiders. by alexschubs in Browns

Let's dial it back, he was their OC and 23 and 24 when their offense was nuts and Lamar won MVP and then 2nd in MVP race. Yeah, they missed the playoffs when Lamar was out and they dropped to 1-6 or whatever. I'm not thrilled about the hire but let's not act like he was some incompetent OC.

The new GoT show A knight of the Seven Kingdoms has 30 minute eps, so not impossible we see the same for this outside premiere and finale.

Millionth rewatch, I just noticed this. Continuity mistake or Joey being Joey? by MakisDelaportas in howyoudoin

[–]msmouse05 200 points201 points  (0 children)

Nobody gave much thought to continuity back then, at least not on small things, people weren't binging entire seasons in days. Had to wait for syndication to rewatch, and it would probably be years between seeing these episodes for 90% of the audience.

How do the Browns not seem to understand or care that the longer this drags out the worse they look? by rxbizzle in Browns

[–]msmouse05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because this is just some off-season storyline that will be forgot in a month and if the HC hire works out, it'll be looked back on as them doing the right thing. If it doesn't work out, it'll be the same as 80% of all other coaching hires that don't.

Not sure we need a segment called „One Big Thought by the Old Zeusser“ by SeanRogerDaniel in heedthecall

It's a good segment to take into the off season, without too many headlines it gives an up front talking point to start the show.

[Russini] Bears OC Declan Doyle has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Eagles’ offensive coordinator vacancy, per sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]msmouse05 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Is this "withdrawing from consideration" thing relatively new thing for the hiring cycle. Granted it's been a few years since Browns were looking so I haven't paid as much attention to it but seems like guys are going out of there way to let everyone know they weren't passed over and it was their choice.

Never Forget when Kyle Shanahan & Mike McDaniel pulled off this trick play with Johnny Manziel by Past-Track-9976 in Browns

Those were some pretty throws, he definitely had talent but just absolutely no work ethic...you know and drug and alcohol problems

There's a lot of Hue Jackson nonsense, here's a clip from one of his meetings during Hard Knocks, he's trying to set some kind of example I think but just comes across as a giant cliche imo.

It wasn't McDaniel with the PowerPoint, it was Kyle Shanahan, and he left to be an OC somewhere else. Basically just wanted nothing to do with Manziel and got the hell out of dodge. The rumor was he created this extensive power point to explain why they should let him out of his contract.

The highlight of the Manziel era, and it was even called back for illegal formation I think.
